Creepshow2
Hey Marc, I delayed my GN'R demo history project for a while so I didn't just rush to get it out when there's still a lot of good information I can include. I forgot to ask an important question that got lost in my research. I was just looking at a picture of the Sound City demos and it has Shadow of Your Love listed as take 1 and take 2, between November Rain piano and Reckless Life. The one everyone has is where Axl says, "Wake up! It's time to play!" Do you have or know about the 2nd take? If you do, can you tell me what makes it different than the circulating take? Thanks. Creepshow2
Hi again, Marc. I know this post ended up going toward the bottom. Incase you didn't see it, can you tell us about that possible 2nd take?
recklessroad
There were some songs that had 2 or 3 takes because they recorded them live on a 2 track and when they put it on the final tape, they grabbed the takes they liked best.
Creepshow2
So the band made a tape for themselves but only chose certain songs? So the Sound City demos you have only have 1 Shadow of Your Love, correct? Also, how many Nice Boys takes are on yours?
recklessroad
My tape has 2 Rocket Queens everything else is only one song but some of the songs say take 2 or take 3. They might be on the master but didn't make it to the demo
