Russia enters Ukraine

What exactly is Russia trying to accomplish? Why do they want Ukraine so badly?

You ever seen the women? Goddamn! The problem is that like Russia, Ukraine has a poor male to female ratio and thanks to war and other things, it has been and will continue to get worse. But more sexy girls!

Also, Ukraine has always been the bread basket and powerhouse of Russia.

Because Zbigniew Brzezinski's obsolete russophobic geopolitical nonsense was a desk book of young Putin and other KGB agents. And it seems that he still can’t get over it. One of Brzezinsky key points was that without Ukraine Russia will never be a superpower again. Which in my opinion is an utter and complete bullshit. In a modern world ideas and technologies are the source of power, not land grabs and heavy weapons.

Besides there's purely utilitarian grounds of Russian aggression. In Putins hands Crimea is the suitcase without handle now as the peninsula can’t live without Ukrainian railway, water and electricity. So he needs to grab a little bit more of Ukrainian land with a proper infrastructure. He’s half way there and he can’t turn back as he will be lynched by his own brainwashed citizens who were told by the government media that Ukraine is captured by American fascist junta.

So, excuse my thick-headed-ness regarding politics but EU want the Ukraine but then so do Russia? So whys Putin a cunt for wanting essentially the same thing as the EU?

You are wrong, one of the poorest and most corrupt countries in Europe with a frozen military conflict on it's territory is definitely not what EU wants right now.

but even if you were right. let's say, i want something that you have. i can try to get it legally. or i can get an AK, break into your appartment and take by force whatever the hell i want.

So the world is just going to let them take it? That's not typically how things get viewed. But maybe because the US is stretched enough we will just let them do it. Which honestly doesn't bother me. I personally don't approve of Russia's actions, but I would rather not see the US get involved. We've got enough shit going on, can't police the world all the time. Unless Russia starts killing all the Ukarainie's, then the world will have to get involved. What are other countries saying about it? Does the UK want to get involved? Or France? Or whomever else?

This thread is hilariously ill-informed.

Hence why I'm asking the questions, trying to get others opinions and thoughts. I purposly don't like to get involved with many politcally charged conversations anymore. They either end up as bunch of people in agreement with blaming somone or something else, or as a heated argument where nobody agrees. To be quite honest, I'm sick of both ends, so I have decided to focus on things I can control. So yes that does leave me out of the "loop" at times, but if an issue is important enough, I eventually get informed through the "grapevine".

It just seems very obvious to me that "the powers that be" are going to do whatever they feel inclined to do. It doesn't matter which side of the fence you are on politcally, because no major change is really possible anymore. This world is going to hell in a hand basket, and their really isn't much anyone can do about it. Sure we can all get together and "bitch" or "talk" about it, but that doesn't really seem to resovole much of anything. Others would just sign up for a "revolution" or revolt or some means to over throw, but why? Even if the revolution would be successful, then who is going to lead the new goverment? How do they make the rules? And who's to say their ideas are any better? Or perhaps even worse.... But at the end of the day, any sort of talk about over throwing goverment is just talk anyways, nothing will ever come of it. So that leads me back to the fact that everyone is just going to bend over and let "the powers that be" do whatever they deem fit. So my question is at what point does even worring about it become moot? Because that's pretty much where I am with things. I'll do me, take care of my family, be a good person, etc. Those are things I can control. I can't control Russia invading Ukraine. I can't control if it leads to WW3. All I can do is swim, if everyone else is drowning, that is one thing I can do....

Now Russia has decided to fly it's fighter planes over the Caribbean.

Okay so exactly when is Obama going to step up and tell them no fuckin way!

Is this the Cuban Missile Crisis in 2014?

First Russia marches into the Ukraine, then they blow up a plane from Malaysia and now this.

It's like the USA is becoming the world's biggest joke.

I don't think America can survive another 1 and a half with Obama. We might be speaking Russian by then.

Yes, the one member that is actually in the middle of it all and is Ukrainian is "ill-informed". That's rich.

Or just a tad biased or maybe she works for one George Soro's NGO's. Her join up date was just before the "revolution" kicked off. I'm extremely skeptical of her (if she is a she) authenticity. She doesn't post anything about GNR either.

So now Russian spies have infiltrated a Guns N' Roses message board. Putin: "We better watch out for those metal heads, get as much information as possible."

Not a spy you fool, a propagandist.

Yes, because brainwashing fans of an 80's rock band sits high on the list of the CIA and the KGB.
