Best version of Mr Brownstone nuGNR?

Recommended Posts

Hey there guys. The question is simple, im trying to find the "best" version of Mr Brownstone during the nuGNR era.

I personally like a lot the Rose Bar acoustic one. Not saying it's the best, otherwise I wouldnt be doing this thread.

I want to hear your opinion guys!

Thanks :)

even though that's not anywhere close to the best version of the song IMO, it is amazing how raspy Axl was. Compare his vocals there to the 2002 version on the ending "Whooaaa-oh-ohhh" -- it's like a completely different singer. He really was back to his old ways in 2010. What the fuck happened?

Not really any of the 'current' line up ones surface in my consciousness as killer performances of recent times which is strange as his lower register is never really affected much regardless of how warmed up his vocals are, I never really liked Brownstone that much as a song, it's a very good song don't get me wrong but never sticks out for me, curse of having such a good catalogue of tracks.

Great vocal performance by Axl Rose. He sounds fucking great. Band sounds like shit, though.

Definitely won't be anything from before '06 or after '10. Can't have a best Brownstone with Axl sounding like shit.

Pretty much this. Robin's solo is better than DJ's, but Axl's voice is better in 2010. So I have to say this one...

Most things from Rock Am Ring '06 get my vote.

I really wish they had more tracks from Rose Bar with the direct line in from Axl's Mic. He was on Fire that Night.

Yeah I don't know why they only released Brownstone with the monitor feed, and the rest with audience audio. He even did the old-school growling intro for Jungle at this show!

Damn he was on fire, I would have killed to see that live man. You can tell by his body language he knows he's fukin on. Fuk why couldn't rock fuel have been around then and made this into a DVD. Ig that can be said about a lot of gigs tho lol.

Yeah... Freaking shows that When Axl wants to kick ass... He can kick ass. It sounds like an aged VMA 88 Performance but acoustic. Always loved Jungle from this show vocal wise.
