Does the vanilla-ness of Ed Sheeran offend you?

I've always had a strong loathing for Ed Sheeran and I could never put my finger on why. Is it my deep-rooted gingerism at play (I mean, when did Ron Weasley become popstar material?) or is it simply that his music is so vanilla it should come with its own cone and flake?

Personally I think it's the latter.

I despised his first albums singles, didn't care for it at all. Particularly hated the overexposure.

X ("multiply") is a good album though, variety of styles. I've been playing it quite a bit recently, and it's totally opposite of the sort of music I normally go for.

Can't say I know anything about the guy, I'm only interested in the songs and not back stories of modern artists.
