To me it's hard to tell why i like one album more than an other, it all has to do with the feelings that i get when i listen to the music. So, here are a couple of albums wich i really love to hear that where released this year:

Mondvolland - Kwade vaart

Fluisteraars - Dromers

Solstafir - Otta

Primordial - Where greater men have fallen

One and all, together for home

I'm not good in describing an album. This review comes close to what i think/feel about it.

Circa Survive has a new album out? All I knew about was the re-issue of Violent Waves. How is that one?

I like it a lot, it's a lot more fast-paced and has a harder edge than Violent Waves does.

I'm just about to order it, so I'm trusting your judgment haha.

But Violent Waves is awesome, so I'm sure I'll like their new one if it has a heavier/faster edge to it. Thanks.

I don't think you'll be disappointed, Circa is so incredibly consistent from album to album and the new one is no different. Hope you like it!
