Facekicker
Made it to 70. What a singer, what a voice. Edited December 22, 2014 by Facekicker
Len Cnut
Oh shit, moreblacks gonna be bummed. Can't say I've heard loads and loads of his work but you only need to hear that voice once (even if it in the theme tune to The Wonder Years) and you never forget it for as long as you live.

LyndaRose
what an aweful singer that was, as I heard him on the radio, I knocked everything out of the way to turn it off

username
Very sad news! Joe is a real icon in music. I can't think of many people who could make music with so much heart and soul poured into it. I was lucky enough to see him live twice.

username
If you can't relate or feel the emotion in his voice and music you must be dead inside, Aye. If Joe Cocker would have covered Like A Virgin, that song would have been powerful enough to restore Sasha Grey's hymen.

Ghostie
My ex mother in law had a story where she went to see him in the cities. He ended up coming down in the audience and offering her a swig out of his bottle of vodka. This was forty plus years ago. Also, like Axl, I can see how his voice would be a turn off for some folks. gunsfanoldie
Slash just acknowledged it. Cool to see his influence spread that far.Just horrible and very sad. An amazing voice and maybe the master interpreter of any cover. If you haven't heard Mad Dogs And Englishmen, you need to. All the best stuff about the party 60s and rockin 70s wrapped up into one concert, with mostly definitive versions of every song performed. Excellent show, and how I will memorialize him. Val22
Not really a fan, but RIP.By today's standards he was still young. Keith Richards was 71 last week. I still can't believe that guy's still alive or is he? lol
rock4eva
RIP JoeRecall hearing stories of him in Australia just before he was kicked out, chasing people (or being chased) through hotel lobbies & causing havoc. Laughed so much, he was a bad boy & I wasn't really into his music but didn't mind it.Gone too soon.
