ShadowOfTheWave
Let's say Axl suddenly announces he is retiring, what emotion would you feel? Sadness? Anger? Happiness?
bacardimayne
"Wow, he actually announced it. I figured he'd just fade out and we'd deduce it ourselves after 3 years of silence."

Dr. Who
I'd feel sad, because one of the few "real" people in music would be leaving.

Lio
I would be sad, like I was last year, when there was this hoax of Axl retiring.

Nosaj Thing
Considering his current state, I couldn't care less, but I guess yeah, sadness would be the first feeling, then I would slowly forget that happened and carry on with my life. He could be retired but his legacy up to 1993 will last forever.
seagullview
I think it's fair to say he's semi-retired. Not completely gone, just enough to keep the band alive. All the other members side projects bears witness to a lack of activity for GN'R. A little touring here, an album every 10 years there

slim26
Good riddens. Retirement would be much better then watching the circus continue, then Axl can feel sorry for himself as an old man wondering why the world hasn't given him a chance. But it's not like he's very active you surely have to agree? One or two interviews per year
GabrieL_TiT
it depends, if he'd announce his retirement without releasing a song I'd freak out, for sure but it would be fine for me (for him too) if he'd announce a new album + a couple shows, as Michael Jackson had planned before he passed away
chevelle
Complete ambivalence, since for all intents and purposes, he's been retired since the 2009 CD tour ended.

wkuk04
The guy doesn't owe us anything. If anything i should say thanks for his music helping me through personal issues. I think Axl still has Ace's up his sleeve with unreleased music.

Val22
Sadness. Axl's too young to retire.Look at Mick Jagger. The guy is 70 and still releases albums and tours occasionally.I would respect what Axl wants, but it would be sad not to never see him in concert again, but I would wish him all the best.
