edit: I'm starting to think that people nowadays think that they have an open license to be as big a fuckwit as possible and if anybody mentions the fact they are a fuckwit it's bullying.

It's part of this shit fad of calling people "haters." Self reflection is for pussies. Never question anything about yourself. If anyone criticizes, they're a hater. :jerkoff:

I love when women post that on their facebook. It is a great warning flag.

IMO, it's a sign of a weak ass culture that deserves to get stomped out when grown men start talking about bullying.

IMHO the weakness lies in the grown men and women who feel the need to bully and harass. At that point in one's life, it's a sad and insecure sort of person who feels the need to dedicate their time to hurting others.

Yes, those hypothetical and imaginary adult bullies who dedicate their time to hurting others are the worst.

If you honestly don't see that there ARE adults out there who are malicious and use their time to harass and hurt others, I don't know what to tell you. Workplace bullying and harassment very much IS a thing.

So you think something like this is imaginary?

Or this?

It's a veritable epidemic.

Yeah, actually, it is. Go look at the rates of adult suicide and workplace-related PTSD sometime. Just because you refuse to acknowledge something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Not wrong Stella, looking this up I see it's a year to the day since we lost this beautiful woman

*shrug* Then I'll drop it, Alfie Rose. But I do think attitudes like the ones above - that don't show any discernment and don't seem to recognize that repeated harassment IS a problem - are part of the problem, IMHO. If any one of these people think they could cope with getting hundreds of death threats every day or being abused all day long at work, the way some adult victims of bullying have, and feel it's not an issue at all...hey, try it and then get back to us./end of debate.

I haven't read James's book. Recently though, I watched all of the "Making the F****ng Videos". I can't remember which one it's in, but there's that bit where Axl and Del are talking about how the whole thing came about. It seemed like it was one of those little synchronistic things that happen from time to time, where you have some emotional response to something, could be anything: life, love, ketchup, whatever. Then five minutes later you walk around the corner and hear someone talking about the same thing, or a ketchup bottle flies out of a window and hits you in the face.

It's all very profound at the time, and it maybe even does signify that something weird or unknown just happened; but then you quickly forget about it. And later, if you look back on it, you rationalize that it was probably just a random coincidence of no significance. And if you happen to have done something at the time it happened to chronicle it, that allows it to live on - like write a song or a book about it - you look back and cringe slightly.

I have already said I don't really have an opinion on Del James. Because I don't know him, and I don't know much about him. Like, I would guess, almost everyone else in this thread. He could very well be an enabler, or a sycophant, or evil incarnate, I just don't. I simply haven't seen any signs of it. And if there were any such signs, I believe I would have seen them, since I tend to read every interview and thing related to GN'R. This also means that I believe most people who blast Del (except those that have read his book and finds it awful) are just making fools of themselves by swinging blindly while really being frustrated with the state of GN'R and Axl. They might be right, but I think that would be nothing but pure luck.

Most of the work he did was buried.

Wrote "Shattered Illusions," the official GN'R biography slated for release in 1995. BURIED

Wrote an episode of "Tales From the Crypt," one which would have seen Axl star in. BURIED

Led and narrated the feature length UYI documentary "The Perfect Crime." BURIED

Like most of the work Axl does. It comes to a certain level of completion and then he begins to have doubts, or, he is ambivalent to release it because things are falling apart in the larger scheme.

Del has always seemed like a cool guy to me, not usre what the problem some people have with him is. As for what he does, I would imagine a great many things, but as for official titles there is nothing lisgted in the early itineraries for Del. Even in the later itineraries I see Road Manager, but not tour manager:

But my absolute favorite title for Del can be found here (look on the bottom):

Where did this come from? Someone just make this themselves and post shots online?

I'm not sure what you mean. These are from itineraries that the band uses when they are on tour. I have most of them going back to UK 1987. I don't know why he was given the title of Encyclopedia of Useless Info in one of them. Guess you'd have to ask Del. But no, I did not make this.
