Guns N’ Roses branded Netent Video Slot announcement

Recommended Posts

Only now seen the clip. I'm not shouting reunion, but it is strange they only show the classic lineup and the 'classic' albums (AFD, Lies, UYI 1&2 and TSI?)

Putting this together with the platinum CD gifts and DJ's 'I look forward to record with Axl, only time will tell', I think GNR as we knew it these last years is finished.

Reunion starts now....

Obviously it's on a slot machine type of thing, so it's not a major big deal. But would this not mean that all the classic members would have had to approve their likeness being used in such a manner? Especially Slash, given the history I don't think he would let Axl use his image to make money unless they have spoken of recent. It just seems very odd...

I througed it's a announcment for Guitar Hero Guns N' Roses

After the chinese democracy rockband game flopped I don't think gnr will do more games for kids who have a Xbox
Actually, it was announced recently that the Rock Band franchise is going to be rebooted. It would be a good idea to promote #lolnewmusic through this. But that will never happen.

How people spot this stuff I don't know, interesting all the same! 2012? wasn't that the same year that Gene said Axl needed a beating, and did KISS say something about Doc McGhee not representing GnR, as if he was he wouldn't be representing KISS anymore? I would have thought Axl and KISS were no longer on speaking terms.

Notice nothing from ChiDem was "represented", never mind blood boiling, it's not even simmering.

When it comes to this era of GNR, Slash, Axl and Duff would be involved in approving it.

A few years ago this would have been unthinkable.

Right? I'm not surprised Axl agreed to license something with the old band members images and likenesses (he seems to be cooling on that), but I'm shocked he & TB allowed something to appear that ignores Chinese Democracy.

The video is uploaded in 2010, and I remember he mentioned before that he like a few Kiss songs.

Nobody cares about Chinese Democracy. This is just another example to those who think it made any sort of debt in pop culture or had any sort of relevancy.

Except the people who made it, toured under it a gazillion times, then named a DVD "Appetite for Democracy" and released it four years later (IE - The same people who licensed this game/commercial/whatever it is).

You don't like it and lots of people share that opinion, doesn't make it irrelevant. If it was in fact irrelevant, people would not have talked about it so much leading to its release, it would not have been such a big deal when the sound of the album was completely different to old guns, and most importantly if it was irrelevant we would not still be talking about it 7+ yrs on... before you say it, rock media still talk about it too (occasionally), it's not just GnR nerds.

I hadn't listened to Chinese Democracy in a while, went back and listened through CD twice about a weeks ago. It is a great album.

People that hated it didn't understand it. Seemed to expect Appetite for Destruction II and forgot about the direction the band was going with the Illusions. It was a shock many couldn't get over and instead of spending time with it, threw it aside. The industry had changed many times and so had the versions of pretty much each song in that time in development. I like the description of 'misunderstood masterpiece'.

Funny thing is, had it been more reminiscent of AFD, people would have probably bitched that he hadn't changed with the times and was a stuck in the 80s hermit. There was no way Axl was going to win with the masses. No matter how good it was, it wasn't going to justify the years in development, at least in the eyes of the public.

Reunion? Maybe a new casino named after GNR?

It would be nice if someone from the GNR camp would say something?

Yeah, strange that they just showed images of the original GNR members and didn't show any pictures of Chinese Democracy either?

I'm pretty sure someone from the GNR camp had to okay this? I'm sure Axl has to know about it. Nothing GNR goes without Axl's knowledge.

I'm confused, but then again, I don't play video games, so I have no idea what this all means.

What did you expect going in?

I didn't know what to expect. It had been some 17 years since we got original music from Axl. You see, there's a group of you on the forum who have a hard time with simple concepts like differing opinions and differing values, so when someone disagrees with you, you have to scramble around creating nefarious reasons for their disagreement so that the world makes sense to you. It ain't all that, buddy. Some of us just think the album isn't good and that's all there is to it. I know, absolute shocker!

It has some good moments but when you listen to Scraped and Shackler's and realise Axl has spent ten years making an album which includes these turds, it makes you think, ''what the heck?'. If you are going to spend a decade on an album it simply has to be an 100% masterpiece, of Pet Sounds proportions, and not contain clangers like those two and If the World.
