Booking a Tour

Recommended Posts

I guess this is most likely a long shot but fuck it.

We have members here from all over the US, not to mention the world, I figure even though this section is inactive as shit maybe the forum could be a useful resource for it's musicians to network and help each other book shows on the road.

One of my bands is planning a tour for this summer, we're a metal/grind/crust punk band. We'd be hitting the road in early July and plan on making our way through the midwest/east coast. If anybody living in this region could suggest good local DIY or established venues in their area w/ contact info that'd be fucking sweet. Not all of the databases online with this kind of info are up to date, or reliable in general, so it's good to have other sources.

I also run a DIY house venue in Lansing, MI if anybody is planning a tour. Lansing, while mostly unknown nationally, is a beautiful small city with a passionate and very active local music scene. We typically do shows at my place once a month but I make exceptions for bands on tour that I know I can support with a show holding strong local acts who draw well, if your band is coming through the area and you don't suck ass I'd love to have you.

Hope this thread could be a powerful tool for our community's musicians who love playing shows on the road.

When you find out roughly when your east coast dates will be, and specifically if you plan to stop by DC/Baltimore/NoVA area, PM me; my band is always looking for other metal/heavy bands to play with, we've got a few venues in the area that we have a decent relationship with (no promises, but could probably make something work). There's also this website: https://www.indieonthemove.com/. I haven't used it that much, but people I know have done so with mixed results. :shrugs:

You know I used to be from Lansing! I'm starting an acoustic project soon and would love to play the area.

Good shit. I've used indieonthemove to track down venues, most of which though require a tour history in their area which is a dead end for us as we've never played outside of Michigan, but it's a pretty good resource. I could see it being more useful further down the road. I'll message you.

This place in Queens, NY is a great spot for metal bands of all genres. They've had big names play there as well but they always have local and unsigned bands playing too...

and if you happen to be in the NYC area, give me a shout

Thanks man, will let you know for sure. This place looks pretty rad.
