Teroz
AJ Pero died last weekend at the age of 55. Reports say that he suffered a massive heart attack on the tour bus and was rushed to the hospital, but they weren't able to revive him. He was on tour with his most recent band Adrenaline Mob, he joined Adrenaline Mob a while back to replace Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater). He was also about to do a string of shows with Twisted Sister during the Summer of 2015.Really sad news. He was a terrific guy and a fantastic and painfully underrated drummer. A father of four and I've never heard a bad thing said about him, he always had time for the fans, he helped out young drummers by giving lessons and even giving his old gear to them. A real down to earth guy and again: a superb drummer.A ton of bands/musicians have paid tribute to him online, like Bumblefoot, Sebastian Bach, Avenged Sevenfold, Tim Owens, Peter Criss, Danzig etc etcBumblefoot has this to say:So sad to find out A.J. Pero has passed away. Great drummer and long time friend.... in shock....RIP AJ. You will be missed. Gracii Guns
That's sad news, at such a young age too.Twisted Sister were the opener at my first ever proper rock gig, back in 2005. They had genuine stage presence and were great fun. Rest in peace, AJ.
axlslash
Hard to imagine TS continue after this. Especially given Dee's recent comments about GNR and other bands touring with replacement members, it's really hard to imagine them just replacing him and touring anymore.Just an awful loss. So young, and by all accounts one of the absolute nicest guys in rock and roll.
axlslash
Dee got caught by a pap who had no idea who AJ was or that AJ had died. Dee was cordial, says the band will keep playing because AJ's family will get money from it. Nice dude.
Teroz
Nice interview from Dee. Like Dee also said, really underrated drummer. Interesting that they've already decided to play on, I guess it means they will do the summer shows and it would be a big surprise if Joey Franco would not be the drummer.
