downzy
Anyone here thinking we might see a price drop on consoles in and around E3? There seems to be a ton of deals of late with respect to including accessories and games with new consoles. I'm wondering if they're attempting to move as much inventory as possible at the current price points before they drop prices by $25-$50? The U.S. dollar has been kicking ass lately, so the relative costs of these systems to produce have come down by 15-20 percent in the last year. Might be worth waiting until mid June (E3 occurs June 16-18) if you're thinking of buying a PS4, Xbox One, or Wii U.
Nosaj Thing
I bought my PS4 for $330 last year. I will definitely get another one for my living room once it hits $299.
Mysteron
I do not think they will go down overly dramatically.I think the current larger consoles have run their course, waiting on the next big thing now.
LightningBolt
I was actually thinking the other day that these consoles already seem fairly cheap considering they're only like a year or so old. You can get them for like $350 pretty easily and cheaper than that if you put in the effort. I got my Wii U for $225 with a $50 game included (Super Mario 3D World) on Nintendo's site. It was refurbished but it works like new.

downzy
It just seems as though there are a lot of promotions going on right now where they include a lot of extras to get people to buy a system. I might be wrong, but this approach often precedes a price drop in the past. It might all even out, as a $299 PS4 likely won't come with the extras that are now included in the $350 PS4. But come Christmas time, assuming the dollar-yen ratio continues to favour the dollar, I figure there will be deals to be had at $299. AtariLegend
I really don't think current consoles have run their course, PS3 lasted 7 years before the PS4 first got shipped and they're still making games for PS3.Quite a few games I actually bought my PS4 for in 2013 still aren't to be released until this year.Console sales might peak in the first few years, but most of the games that people remember normally come from after the first 2 years. Consoles cycles are about more than launch titles.
arnold layne
I've decided. I have a three day weekend, I just got paid, gonna buy myself a Wii U and Jack off until Wednesday.

arnold layne
I bought the Wii U for $325. It was more than I should have paid, however it did come with 2 games.Super Mario 3D World was probably the best Mario platformer since Super Mario 64, to me. It achieved to keep my interest far longer than Galaxy or New Super Mario Bros. could.
Conor
I bought the Wii U for $325. It achieved to keep my interest far longer than Galaxy or New Super Mario Bros. could.I think I paid slightly less than that and got a couple games with it, well worth my money. I've my fingers crossed that the new Starfox and Zelda games deliver, and for a new Metroid. I'd be game for a 2.5D Metroid on the 3DS as well. Back on the Mario topic, I think Super Mario 3D World is better than 64. The level system works better than the repetition of the Hub World games in my opinion. That wouldn't stop me enjoying one of those mind.

That said, 3D World far surpassed my expectations.I'm fully expecting a Metroid game developed by Retro to be announced at E3, too. Right now they only have Star Fox, Xenoblade, and Yoshi to show from the Wii U that we know about and I can't imagine they'd be content with that. arnold layne
I just fucking blew 12 bucks on the DLC for MK8. I figured that if I blew sixty on this polished turd I might as well buy all of it. What a disappointing game. I am THE BIGGEST Mario Kart fan you'll find and this one is the worst since DoubleDash. On a positive note though, 3D world surpassed my expectations. Carnival Bowser of Doom is one of my new favorites. This new LoZ game will be great too. Have you seen stills of this game? Mind blowing. James Bond
I enjoyed 7 on the 3DS I must say, but 8 didn't live up to the hype although I still find it fun.
arnold layne
The DLC courses are the only ones I play now. I really enjoy those four, and it's awesome racing as Link. The game was not worth sixty dollars but the download extras were well worth the twelve. If they made the game as great as the DLC they would have a solid game.I'd say a six out of ten game without the DLC, 8 out of 10 with. downzy
I've noticed that Microsoft has dropped the price of the Xbox One in Japan and China. Wonder if they'll follow up with a price drop in North America or elsewhere soon? There is a history of price drops in and around E3.Also, any Canadian looking to buy a PS4 or Wii U might want to check out Indigo.ca. They're giving 20 percent off if you buy online through Visa. That means a Wii U Deluxe can be had for $240 (plus tax) and a PS4 with Last of Us Restored for $360. These are in Canadian prices.
