yes this is a reunion thread.

Its time, I would rather have one last album from the old players than 10 with the new band. I feel like axl was just trying to get "better" players or whatever out of anger for them leaving the old band. And slash and duff were just pissed at axl for all of the nonsense that went on during that time. But both parties essentially failed at replacing anyone. This is now or never. before they are 60 for gods sake, kick ass one more time for the fans. For the fans only, not for any other reason.

I have been a supporter of axl, slash, duff,Izzy, and Steven for the last 20 years. All of the key players have now said they will do it, it is time. P.s. move or delete this jarmo. Not to say that everyone in nugnr isnt great by their own right because they are. DJ is awesome I get his whole deal, frank is a fine drummer but he ain't no Adler(the drug addict who is playing better than ever and is getting sober),tommy has the same roots as duff but t he ain't no fucking duff, and fortus is a great player but he ain't no slash replacement, or the best chance we have at having one.my dream is to see the real gnr before I croak and this is it. Axl, this is for you, your songs have helped me through the hardest times of my life, and even if you never sing one note for the rest of your life, you will always be the best singer/songwriter IMO which is nothing, but as a lifelong fan please consider it.

Zoso, wtf is that?? Grow some balls, shrimp.

Wag, that version sucked. I was at the Boston show.

Show any reason why they shouldn't reunite and I will never post again. They were the fucking best.

Yes I'm an asshole. One who loves the real band.

We do seem at an interesting crossroads where both sides need each other more than ever. Slash and Duff can't seem to find a replacement for Velvet Revolver, Axl keeps losing his bass player to The Replacements while it seems readily apparent to anyone paying attention that Bumble is out while DJ seems preoccupied with Sixx AM.

At the same time, Chinese Democracy has run its course and now would be the perfect opportunity to reform with some of the classic members. This isn't 2006, the rock world and most GNR fans aren't waiting with baited breath for a new GNR album like they were with Chinese Democracy. Sure, Axl could release another disc filled with compositions by relatively unknown musicians, but I can't see it selling more than a couple hundred thousand copies at this point.

Ideally, the perfect ending would be for Axl to regroup with Slash, Izzy, Duff and Matt (Adler is too much of a headache), release one final album, tour for a year, then call it a day.

Lol, why would that be the perfect ending? Wouldn't it be better if we'd get new albums every couple of years? Now that we're talking about the ideal situation.

Personally, I feel the biggest problem that's blocking a reunion is Axl's refusal to come to terms with the fact that nu guns failed and nobody cares. I think the biggest nightmare he had when he started this with his clear as day "I'll show you" mentality when it came to the guys in the real band, was that nobody would take to the material and that the demand for a reunion would be everlasting. And that's exactly what happened. Sure, they can still tour with moderate success on the back end of the old band, but that's it. And really, how rewarding as a artist can that be? Nobody but a few hundred hardcores give a shit about the nu band creatively speaking, nor do they care about what Nikki Six's whipping boy can bring to the table. The music he made without Izzy, Slash, and Duff is seen as vastly inferior to the material he made with them and I think that makes his blood boil more than anything.

He failed and he refuses to accept that. Some like to paint that as someone with indestructible integrity. Most with a firm grip on reality see that as a whiny six year old throwing a shit fit at Toys r us because he couldn't have an Xbox one AND a Wii U.

Will it happen? It depends if he ever gets a clear picture on things that supersedes what the enabling, gutless leeches tell him, and if he can get over this venomous vendetta with Slash. In other words, probably not.

Exactly.

I still want to hear CD2.

And a reunion album would be cool.

No need to stop at one album.

If Axl got in tip top shape hired a personal trainer, stuck to a training diet, hired that vocal coach from 2006 tour, there's no reason why he wouldn't kick some ass, but I'm not sure a reunion would happen if I'm being honest, it's just hype at this point.

just watching the tour where duff joined in you could visibly tell axl was stepping it up a notch and getting a small taste of what it would be like to perform with the originals. seemed like both duff and axl really enjoyed it. sure there would be compromises and difficulties if it did happen. I think izzy should be given the option if he wants to do it or not leave it up to him. then adler should be voted on by the band (since he was the only one actually fired) in the end it's as it always was it's up to axl. is it worth it to him? could they make it work? I know I'd buy tickets to several shows if they announced it today.

If they are anything like CD, getting new albums wouldn't be better at all. Axl's band is a joke, more mediocre music wouldn't help.

For me, no. How many great albums have the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, AC/DC, U2, Metallica, The Eagles, Elton John, put out in the last 25 years?

While I think it would be interesting to see what a new album from a classic lineup would sound like after spending all this time apart, I'm not sure GNR would be an exception to the rule. Musicians, like athletes, have a shelf life. We don't expect athletic greatness from athletes 25 years after their prime, we shouldn't expect the same from musicians.

Again, it's all personal, but if I were God and calling all the shots, I'd get the band to release one more album to go out on and leave it at that. Tour off it so everyone can make their tens of millions of dollars and retire the name Guns N' Roses with some serious fuck you money. If the individual members want to continue their own solo projects, fine, but I think it's probably best to do it outside of the GNR name since some of the members will be pushing close to sixty soon.
