During a brand new interview with Austria's Stormbringer webzine conducted on June 6 at the Rock In Vienna festival, GUNS N' ROSES and THE DEAD DAISIES guitarist Richard Fortus was asked about rumors that GN'R was working on the follow-up to "Chinese Democracy" and when fans can expect to see new activity from the Axl Rose-fronted band.

"We're gonna be doing stuff next year," Richard responded (see video below). "There's… We're not gonna have anything out this year. Yeah… Next year…. Next year, it should be out. And we'll be touring."

The last GUNS N' ROSES album, "Chinese Democracy", came out in 2008 and ended a 17-year gap between collections of all-new material.

Rose, guitarist D.J. Ashba and other members of the current lineup have hinted at material recorded during the "Chinese Democracy" sessions that has yet to surface.

"Chinese Democracy" re-entered The Billboard 200 chart in April 2011 after it was made available at BestBuy.com for a reduced price of $1.99.

Best Buy was the exclusive U.S. retailer for "Chinese Democracy", reportedly paying $14 million for 1.6 million copies. But the album was a major sales disappointment, moving less than 750,000 copies to date despite the curiosity and hype surrounding its release.

The CD was officially certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 3, 2009 for shipments in the United States in excess of one million copies.

"Chinese Democracy" came out 15 years after its predecessor, 1993's "The Spaghetti Incident". It took more than a decade to record, during which every original member of the band except Rose was replaced and four different producers were used.

Rose is the only original member of GUNS N' ROSES still in the current lineup, which has toured intermittently since 2006 and played its second Las Vegas residency last year.

This is good and bad news. It means we have the possibility of a Nu GNR record next year, and it also means were one step farther away from a reunion of the classic guns lineup...

False. Nothing has changed, "we're" on the same "step" as before.

So far they're sticking to "no shows in 2015", I was actually hoping he'd ask Mendoza about a Blue Murder reunion. Sykes had been in Thin Lizzy but long before Fortus had been a part of it, or if Duff and Izzy were welcome to join Dead Daisies, being that Richard's spent some time with both of them.

Chinese Democracy is Axl's last album. Richard is either lying or clueless.

More like Clueless, he doesn't even knows when to go to the studio or who to give his guitar parts, thats why he is doing the Dead Daises thing, when he gets a call from TB to go in the studio then only he will go, he wouldn't even have a clue if Axl has already Mastered the album or thought of a release date or thought of a name, I guess Richard and we fans know equally what actually is going on in the band, even in his next interview he will say the same thing like how he has been doing since the past so many years, he knows he will get fired if he says "Axl is doing no shit, there will be no album, Axl has kept me in the dark, How the hell should I know when the hell is the touring, why don't you go and ask his Nanny"
