Is it worth the FC fee for access to the pre sale? Do they have decent tickets on offer in standing or seats?

Well it's too late to join and access the presale - the codes were sent out on Sunday, and I don't believe they send you one if you join after the fact.

It says they do, the pre sale is on until Friday and you can join and they'll send you a code within 30 minutes.

Glad I didn't then if they're gonna rip me off.

I could be wrong. I just assumed they don't since the PM's with presale codes are automated. I don't read the fine print, I've done enough of the presales to know how they work

If you are thinking of signed up to do the presales, keep in mind the seated tickets may be pretty picked over since the presale has been happening for 32 hours. Standing tickets are still available for most shows - I think the only ones where there's no standing left for the presale are London, Cardiff, and maybe...Manchester? Can't quite remember which the third one was.

Thanks. I checked and I can sign up an get a code 30 minutes later, like you say though it'll be pretty well picked over by now

I'm going to Sheffield so I shall probably join the FC and see what they've got left.

You gonna buy me a pint while I'm there? ;)

If it is a Sunday in May there is a 90% chance I will be at the cricket that day.

I actually did see Maiden in the toon. I've never been the biggest Maiden fan - infact I think they are rather naff haha (apart from ''Two Minutes To Midnight'' - I like that song) - but this was during a period when me and my mate would see just about everybody. I was right at the front at this show,

The city hall is a much better venue than the arena. Classy elegant old theatre. The Arena is shite.

Honestly, the FC is still well worth the price, there's a good few perks to it. If you get standing tickets, be sure to look into First To The Barrier.

I'm guessing the City Hall isn't big enough for them nowadays :P

Yes but the City Hall is a much nicer venue all round than The Arena; the Beatles and Hendrix played there; Motörhead recorded the majority of No Sleep 'til Hammersmith there; Guns actually played there in 1987, on their first headlining tour.

Well I got paperless tickets, is this the new fangled way of going to concerts now? I was like, and what the hell is all this paperless hoo haa, oh but the good seats are paperless, it'll be fine, confirm purchase.

I lose my bank card on a pretty regular basis, it's almost a certainty I'll lose it before May

Maiden swears by doing paperless tickets in the US, in reality virtually every other artist has accepted that system is a failure. They think it stops scalpers from reselling the tickets but it really doesn't, they have a couple workarounds. Other than the two O2 gigs in 2013, this will be the first time they've done them in Europe.

Theres also a so a lot of room for things to go wrong. Go back in this thread and find my review of the opening night in Florida to get an idea of how messed up paperless can get.

Managed to get two standing tickets for the gig in Antwerp. They blew me away at Graspop this year, so I'm looking forward to it, and I'm not even the biggest Maiden fan. :) Prices were quite OK too, for a band of this callibre. 65€ for arena standing tickets. I expected way more.

And no paperless ticket or other bullshit, it seems. I don't even know how that would work.

You can still buy standing tickets for the Sheffield show and tickets still available for most other UK shows.

I thought an Iron Maiden arena run in their own backyard would've sold out way before now :shrugs:

They rarely sell out every single UK show in an arena run - most will get to about 90-95% capacity. The only shows that 100% sell out usually are London, maybe Manchester, and the very small venues like Cardiff. On the Fan Club there's always a thread on ticket sales, with attendance numbers from the last show in a given venue for comparison's sake, I can provide those numbers later if interested (Too hard to do in mobile).

I just though it odd they still have standing tickets, normally they are really difficult to get. Maybe it's the paperless system putting people off?

Possibly. You can't resell them, so people may be waiting until closer to the gig so they're sure they'll be able to go.

From the FC, these are the numbers from the last time around and the current sales at each of these venues:

Nottingham, England (ca. 8,500): 2011 - Sold out, 2017 - Sold out

Dublin, Ireland (ca. 12,500): 2010 - 10,000, 2017 - 11,7000 (Expected to sell out)

Manchester, England (ca. 15,000): 2011 - Sold out, 2017 - 11,000 (Expected 13,500)

Sheffield, England (ca. 11,500): 2011 - Sold out, 2017 - 8,000 (Expected 9,000)

Leeds, England (ca. 11,000): Never played before, 2017 - 9,500 (Expected to sell out)

Newcastle, England (ca. 11,000): 2011 - 10,473, 2017 - 9,500 (Expected to sell out)

Glasgow, Scotland (ca. 12,000): 2011 - 9,700, 2017 - 11,600 (Expected to sell out)

Aberdeen, Scotland (ca. 8,400): 2011 - Sold out, 2017 - ??? (Expected to sell out)

Liverpool, England (ca. 11,000): Never played before, 2017 - Sold out

Birmingham, England, (ca. 13,000): 2011 - Sold out, 2017 - 11,500 (Expected to sell out)

Cardiff, Wales (ca. 7,000): 2011 - Sold out, 2017 - Sold out

London, England - night 1 (ca. 15,500): 2013 - Sold out, 2017 - Sold out

London, England - night 2 (ca. 15,500): 2013 - 11,413, 2017 - 14,500 (Expected to sell out)

Thank you @Powerage5 very interesting. i don't like the paperless tickets much. I was going to swap my tickets from seated to standing seeing as they're available now, but ticketmaster weren't sure about how to do it so I told them not to bother, rather than risk them messing up my tickets.

My seated tickets are decent enough.
