dalsh327
It seems like the dates are far enough apart that there's going to be dates added, but it depends if there's other events scheduled day before & day after. As far as MSG, Roger lives on Long Island so expect reunion rumors. Maybe he'll just be watching the concert and hanging out.

RussTCB
I wanna go to Chicago but it's not in the cards to buy tickets today. I'll just have to see what develops between now and April.

gunsfanoldie
He's charging WAAAAY too much and playing WAAAAY to big of venues for the music he does. He isn't Waters that has a show. Its more about the music, which suits a theater setting much better IMO.Don't like solo Gilmour albums (the new single does literally nothing for me) which is why I've never seen him. I regret not seeing him back in 06 because in retrospect it would have been great to hear his deep cuts like Fat Old Sun and Wots Uh The Deal, and especially Echoes with the late great Richard Wright, but could never pull the trigger on getting tickets. It was the same time Roger was touring and I wanted to see Dark Side in its entirety more.Considered seeing Gilmour this time, and still might. The venue and price really turned me off, and its also so far in advance to really plan ahead like that. But I still will probably try to get a cheap ticket closer to the show date. I love MSG, I just don't think its the right venue for him.
dalsh327
My wish list would be Dogs live. I didn't think the tickets were outrageously expensive compared to bands that play more shows on a regular basis than he does, plus he did a few festivals last time, so maybe he'll be doing one or two next year. At his age and his general disinterest in playing live, I doubt he'll tour after this. but then again I'm surprised he put a new album out. I expected more side projects and collaborations like Metallic Spheres.

I love MSG, I just don't think its the right venue for him.I've been thinking about that too. I'm actually curious if he'll have more of a stage production this time around considering the ticket prices. Maybe something along the lines of the sets used on the Momentary Lapse tour? Don't get me wrong. I love Dave, love his playing and I'm excited to see the show either way. The venue size has me more curious about the stage show than anything. As for setlists, I hate to be that guy but I would hope for very Floyd heavy sets. I don't really dig much of his solo work and there's SO much older Floyd material he could bust out. I personally, hail mary wish of mine would be for him to do Fearless.
gunsfanoldie
I too hope its Floyd heavy, and I have no qualms about saying that. Listen, I respect the guy as an artist, but the bottom line is neither he nor Roger have made great solo work. Roger has a handful of good tracks, and some really like Amused To Death which I don't, but I think he has the classic Floyd lyricism in his corner. All Gilmour has is his instrumental, which is amazing but it can only take you so far. Thats why many people don't like instrumental albums, cause you need lyrics or something moving the music forward.I'm SURE the set will be similar to last time, and how its been since Floyd has been fronted by Gilmour. First set is new stuff, and then he rewards you with the classics in set 2 and encores. It seems without fail thats what he's done since 1987 when he has a new album. And it sucks because as much as I want to like his solo and Floyd work, its just not that great to me. Its meandering and boring and lacks to the spark of classic Floyd. On An Island was fine, but it becomes repetitive and plodding. I didn't see the tour cause I didn't want to sit through a whole set of it, but I respect him for sticking up for it. I just wish I was worth sticking up for.I'd go because his early Floyd stuff is SO good. Like you, I'd die to hear Fearless. I've been on a Pink Floyd kick and I forget that he sings nearly all the early stuff and has so many great deep cuts. Fat Old Sun and Wots Uh The Deal made appearances on the last tour, but I'd KILL for Childhood's End, A Pillow Of Winds, The Gold Its In The! Thats the stuff Waters can't do justice to and the stuff I'd run to see Gilmour for. Its why I've opted for Roger, who admittedly milks the Floyd thing, but honestly he wrote the material and its what I want to hear. He ditched his mediocre solo work (IMO, even though the songs on In The Flesh live album are very good) and tours Floyd, which I feel Gilmour doesn't do a better balance of. At least Waters plays Dogs, Sheep, The Gunners Dream, Set The Controls. He goes to great lengths to recreate those live and it pays off. ZoSoRose
I agree 100% with you guys.I was shocked to see arenas and also was pretty floored by ticket prices, but that is because I grossly underestimated his ability to sell out arenas. The price of admission is just sadly what its becoming now. Van Halen, Rush, Eagles, etc arena tickets all start at around $70-$80 now.At any rate, I am expecting his first set to be the new album or a collection of his solo stuff. I'm not thrilled about it, but that's how he does things. Its weird, I Gilmour-Floyd (including Momentary Lapse), but think his solo work is meh. At any rate, the second set will surely be all Floyd material and I'm psyched for that. Hoping for some stuff like Dogs, Sorrow, Coming Back To Life along with the usual Floyd material he plays. I don't think Echoes and Time will be in the set without Rick, so those free up some space.EDIT- I saw Roger do The Wall in 2010 and for me, that is the end all, be all Floyd show (even though it wasn't Floyd) so I am pretty satisfied. David is one of my favorite musicians too, and since this will most likely be the last tour, its a no brainer for me to go. If anything, hearing him play C Numb will be worth it alone. Completely agree with your thoughts on On An Island though. Didn't even think of Childhood's, A Pillow, The Gold and Wots. I would love to hear any of those.I saw The Black Crowes cover Fearless about a decade or so ago. ZoSoRose
I hope he doesn't leave them off, I'm just going off of what he said a while ago. I remember him saying he wouldn't do Echoes again because of Rick. A shame, too, because the 2006 versions were amazing.Rattle that Lock really is pretty bad... Polly's contributions on Division Bell were fine, because I think David took more control. Ever since, he has been on auto pilot and her lyrics have been getting worse and worse. Glad he is in a happy marriage, but I miss David of the 80s. Momentary Lapse had some really cool lyrics and some edge because he was going through a lot. I already think this album will be a collection of mellow tunes with a few good solos. I'd rather him play all of The Endless River if that's the case because at least the music on that was engaging to me. I know its not out yet, so we will see.
dalsh327
I don't know if he's having special guests this tour but I heard Crosby and Nash might try to do the London shows because it's right after they do shows on the Queen Mary. I'm sure there's going to be one song he'll dedicate to Rick.
ZoSoRose
He should play a song like Echoes in all its glory, what better tribute? Anisina from The Endless River would be good too since its short and literally a tribute to him.
gunsfanoldie
I don't remember him saying he wouldn't do all of Echoes again (even though I believe he did) but that seems obvious he wouldn't. It'd be amazing to keep (honestly, if I knew he was doing that I'd be more inclined to go the show) but to me that was so clearly the centerpiece of his last tour. Thats a song that I assume requires a ton of practice and it seems like it was the "gimmick" of that tour, and I mean gimmick in the best possible way. But it was the song that was like "you're never gonna see this again other than on this tour." Maybe I'm totally wrong, but I would think with or without Rick it makes sense that it was exclusive to that tour. Doesn't seem like something that would be repeated, as easily or as demanded as something like Shine On You Crazy Diamond or something like that is.I would say he's more inclined to have something like Dogs be the "thing" of this tour. He's spoken very fondly of that in the past and its kind of the one later epic song they have that he has always made a point of saying he wrote a great deal of. But yeah, if he were to tour again in two years I wouldn't expect him to keep that. It would be exclusive to this tour. If that makes sense.I do think he'll at least have one tribute to Rick. Probably one for him and Syd together, but I wouldn't be shocked if Rick also gets his own. They were very close. Honestly, it could easily be Wish You Were Here. dalsh327
I don't think he's done these since the About Face tour, def. possible he could have Kate Bush & Roy Harper coming out as special guests.
gunsfanoldie
Just listened to the live version of Money from 1974 thats on the companion live disc of Dark Side Of The Moon. Completely forgot he didn't play that on the last tour. Listen to that one LOUD and its clear he should bring that back for this new tour. There's nothing like hearing him rip at that solo. As overplayed as the song is, his solo IMO has always been the saving grace. I never get sick of that.
