JoGer99
So about 2 years ago "Going Down" leaked. The first new (full) song since 5 years at that point. What are your thoughts on it ?I personally think it is a great song apart from Bumbles solo
RnT
It´s so good that I can´t even remember what´s look like. I will hear again to remember Edited August 19, 2015 by RnT
RnT
Can´t find it anymore, but this reminded me of Ain´t Going Down and I´m listening right now
Lies They Tell
It's a good Tommy Stinson song. As a GNR song it's pretty average.
Teroz
I think that I listened to it once. That tells me my thoughts about it.
wasted
If you have CDitis or other afflictions it is like an antidote. If only every TWAT was Going Down.
Iron MikeyJ
It needed Axl's vocals to really be a true nugnr song. As it was it was an ok song, but it didn't feel gnr enough for me. Classic gnr could get away with Izzy or Duff singing, nugnr can not get away with anyone else other than Axl singing.
EvH
I still like it. But as you said, the solo is an awful joke.
wasted
It was catchy in a way like an Izzy tune which kind of would be a nice interlude on CD II. Down By the Ocean and Going Down might be cool additions.
liers
Its good. I listen to it regularly.
Axl_morris
Great song and a strong album filler.Wont be so good if it was a leading single off the album.
BreakDown2014
It's a great song and I listen to it a lot. It's very different from CD which is interesting, considering it could give some clues about the musical directions of CD II
Słash
Its better than Scraped and Riad, but it doesn't has the GNR feel to it. Its just an Average song.
The Black
I actually like the song, where I only really liked This I Love from CD.
RussTCB
Never really got the appeal of this song outside of it just being unreleased GN'R material. I listened to it maybe twice after it leaked because there just wasn't anything about it I liked.
tomfriend
It's solid but unremarkable.
alfierose
I liked it, would prefer a finished quality version though.
bumblerose
This song deserved a fortus solo not bumblefoots
NicoRourke
It needed Axl's vocals to really be a true nugnr song. As it was it was an ok song, but it didn't feel gnr enough for me. AxlsMainMan
I liked it a lot. It had the quirkiness and playfulness of Tommy's solo stuff.
Dean
I really liked it. There was a lot of interest in the song after it appeared on the Rio set list and to finally hear not only the song, but Axl's incredible backing vocals was a relief. I've seen people mention that someone from TB mentioned that on the finished version Axl sings lead...is there any proof of this?
Gackt
Bucket's got a short and sweet little outro solo that I can digThe pacing on the song is a little weird and the lyrics kinda suck, but otherwise it'd be an alright filler track for a ChiDem follow-up
BangoSkank
It's far from bad, but of the things that leaked at the time I listen to it the least. One of the things that made New Guns cool was Axl pushing the boundaries and exploring new sounds. This is a good song, but it's a bit generic for what the band is capable of.
trev
The drum tracks at the beginning/first part of the song need replaced with actual drums. Bumble or whoever's solo doesn't fit at all. But I disagree with a lot of people, this is a guns n roses song. Guitars are just lacking.
Mateoson
Funny I was just thinking about this song and I have been listening to it the past few days. I dig it... Stinson's vocals don't bother me, and Axl's backing vocals are great. It totally sounds like a guns song to me. It's not a masterpiece for sure, but it's one of the only "new" things we've heard in years. Though, it would be great to hear the Axl version if it is even true.
