maynard
The guy who never really liked GNR but played with Axl for money is finally out. Slash is out then? Can we ban this guy? Seriously. Magisme was suspended for less.
niceguy
His bass playing on Chinese Democracy is a hidden gem. Is it?It honestly really isn't. There's nothing special about his bass playing. It's great for the Mats: boring, uninspired, bland, extremely non technical. There is nothing hidden or gemlike about Tommys bass on ChiDem. downzy
Please stay on topic. No need to take shots at other band current or former band members that have nothing to do with Tommy being in or possibly out of GNR. Thanks!
gunsguy
Well there ya go, that is him directly saying he left. Sources now would be himself kind of, still I feel he's being evasive. "Cause we've all left, we've left on friendly terms it not like a bad thing." That isn't good enough right? I swear sometimes we are creating our own issues here. Not everyone is going to release a signed letter like Ashba did. Tommy is out, there is no spin.

Tommy was a great fit for the band during the Buckethead era, especially considering the early performances of the Chinese Democracy songs had more of a punk feel to it. It's all about what you're into and what sounds good to your ears, but much like the album itself, Tommy's bass is really under-appreciated on the album. DR DOOM
Tommy's bass sound is like linoleum...you hear him for that second or two in The Blues/Street Of Dreams and that's it.Duff's bass lines and sound in GNR were and are unmistakable in just about every song- Tommy could hold the bass player spot for 50 years and still not hold a candle to Duff in that role (not particularly trying to shit on Tommy, but it's true)The most you can say about Stinson is that he did a long stretch, musically there is next to fuck all to show for it. Rustycage
lol his "sound." It's a generic tone with a little overdrive with generic riffs.
