Subtle Signs
MONUMENTAL PROMOTION! Not a great commercial, IMO but I'm sure that was a nice payday for GNR. Shouldn't be long before a TRUPUNX purist says they "sold out" even though they've been a mainstream band for almost 30 years now. Subtle Signs
Taco Bell could probably have gotten a Chi Dem song for a 10th of the price of WTTJ but it wouldn't have had the same impact.
Babooshka
Someone at the time said it was sponsorship. I've never had a taco.

I think the first time I either heard or properly listened to WTTJ was for a San Andreas advert I saw on TV. Estranged Reality
Since Axl, Slash and Duff are back on the same page, I wouldn't be surprised if we see the music getting licensed out more often like this.

It's likely that the deal was done before, meaning that Axl's tweet was used to promote Taco Bell. It's either that, or Taco Bell saw an opportunity in Axl's love of Tacos to use WTTJ in a commercial of theirs.
