double talkin jive mfkr
All right what great footage you have yourself after watching the BBC4 the day i just happened to be travelling in London to watch in my hotel. Out of the entire documentary I was blown away by how good Steven was back then and it was like he was one of the lead instruments in some of those clips... Not only does that footage look like the best version of GNR live, but Steven is going nuts there...what do you think is a good test song for steven to dominate and based on that be successful in transitioning in GNR. My vote is if he can do Nice Boys at the same pace on Lies then he's golden. I'd love to see that...Going to both Mexico Shows!
recklessroad
Steven can handle any of the AFD songs well as long has he stays sober. I have seen him play in the last year and he is fine.
double talkin jive mfkr
thx marc, i actually think the 'live' songs on Lies would be a treasure to listen to with adler on them, also the live aid songs he was still really good even strung out Edited February 13, 2016 by double talkin jive mfkr
NOVEMBER COMA
I can't imagine Steven playing on any UYI or CD tracks if asked to be a special guest at anytime on tour?? My thoughts if he does get the chance would be limited to UTLH or You're Crazy, maybe towards the end of a set. I think Frank will handle the rest. rocknroll41
I think what makes the most sense is to have him show up at the end of the first gig, maybe right before the encore. So, assuming their setlist will be the same as it has been since 2001, I would guess Steven could likely play on Nightrain, as well as everything in the encore (meaning Patience and Paradise City and (I guess) Used to Love Her).
NOVEMBER COMA
Agree Steven will be at the end of gig & possibly before encore, definitely can see Nightrain as a possibility as he has played recently with 'ADLER', just can't get me head around him playing drums in Patience, was there much patience drumming back in the day?? I know Matt made it happen in 1991

How about the Ritz 88 setlist with the original 5 then Illusions & CD as an encore with Richard & Frank?. Well now there's a show.
highvoltage
There are plenty of #drumcam videos out there from last year. Stevie still has it.

GNFR
Call me nuts, but I'd kill to see Adler do YCBM and Locomotive live (well not KILL but you know what I mean).

I know Matt made it happen in 1991 I saw them play Patience a few months before Lies came out and they did do it with drums. And then of course there's Don Henley doing it on TV with them, so they were doing it that way before 91.
NOVEMBER COMA
Now that Izzy has denied involvement will Steven still get a guest spot? I will change my setlist under setlist thread.
whatashame
I don't see a single reason why Adler needs a test song any more than Axl does
Johnny Drama
Estranged or Locomotive. I'm one of Steven 's hugest fans but if he wants this as bad as he has said for 25 years he should be able to nail those in one take.
