Anyway's I'm slightly hungover from drinking after the show too much. May post a longer review later. I had a great time last night though. I'm glad he finally got to play with the band, I can only imagine how awesome and surreal it must have been for him. Obviously, just an insanely historic and memorable show. To me, the interesting thing I kept thinking until Steven came on was great and tight the band was sounding. The tempos for all songs seemed to be right on point to me. Axl was absoultely on fire and Slash was killing it. One thing that really struck me was the energy Axl was infusing into the show by moving about and being so active. Obviously he was throne-bound when I saw them in Vegas, but wow he really brings a massive amount of energy to the stage when he is mobile. I remember thinking how great Double Talking Jive was (as compared to Vegas). Estranged was superb, the back half of Rocket Queen was just incredible, YCBM was terrific. This I love was super. Civil War and Coma were amazing, maybe the best two versions of those songs to date......and SCOM was just outstanding. I actually ran to the restroom and grabbed another beer during Better and made it back to my row of seats right when he announced Adler, I was shocked I looked up and was like What? HOLY SHIT Its Steven, he's going to play with them, OMG!!! And, wow, just fucking wow. I've been watching videos of him with them last night and I cried....cried for the happiness that Steven must have felt at that moment last night. So fucking cool. I've seen them twice before the split (would've been 3x had not one of the shows being canceled due to a Gilby motorcycle accident I believe) and 3 times as incarnations of NU-GN'R. I've seen lots of great concerts in my life, but this was the best show I have ever witnessed. They were so amazing and the Adler thing was just insane and a part of history. I was lucky enough to be in the pit right up front. The crowd definitely could have been a bit more lively, but the performance was pristine. Axl sounded so vintage and was busting his ass up there to give us his all. The band seems to get better and better with each show. Man I hope they stay together because they are on fire right now. I had been waiting on this for so many years like so many others here on this forum. So glad I got to see that show (got tickets late afternoon; day of the show after searching all day) What a night!
