gnr>everything
I'll just echo the sentiments of everyone else who went -- that was an amazing show. I was in the first row on the field on the right side and had a great view. Even the parts of the set that kind of lag when I watch at home were energetic and exciting last night. No one in my vicinity knew the CD songs (in fact when I pointed out Frank in the pit during Lenny's set to the people next to me they asked me who he was ), but that's okay, I just sang louder to pick up the slack. Getting out of the parking lot was a pain in the ass, but that's what you sign up for with a stadium event. I was thinking of hanging out at one of the restaurants at Patriot Place to let it clear out a bit first tonight, but I'm not sure if any of those places stay open after events. Does anyone know? If not, it shouldn't be as bad with so many less people going. Speaking of tonight, I'm in the pit, which I had a good chance to scope out last night. It didn't really start to fill in until midway through Lenny's set. I'm not sure if I'm going to try and go for the rail or just hang back. I have some back issues that make standing for a long time pretty painful, but I'll see how it is when I get there. Can't wait! P.S. I've attached some pictures below, not sure how they'll come out on the forum because they're pretty big files.

They are expecting 19,000 tonight. Last night shit all over Vegas I felt the same way in Pittsburgh. I think a huge part of that was the fact that Axl is now mobile, and that really changes the whole feel of the show. But the band is definitely on fire-and I'm thinking they can only get better from here.
Popular Post Tom-Ass
What an amazing show.. This show shit ALL OVER Vegas.. I knew this band could be so much better than they were in April and they are. It was just one huge fucking party from the time we pulled up til I left this morning. I am seeing noting but raving reviews and good times all over face book. Axl Rose... That fucking dude killed it last night. He was incredible.. He has greatly exceeded my expectations of him this tour and it is great to see him out of that god damn chair.. Slash also killed it all night. Out of all I have been reading and people I talked to, he seemed to have blown the most people away. Legend. Duff was the man as usual. Fortus.. Could still do without his solos. Was a bit loud in the mix a couple times Frank.. He was fine last night Melissa.. Useless, ignored her too. May have cringed once or twice when they showed her on the screen Dizzy. Forgot he was there besides Estranged. Which was off the hook as usual. 99% of the people don't give rats ass about anyone but Axl, Slash and Duff. The reactions to the others during the introductions are luke warm at best. They hardly ever show them on the screens which makes it even easier to ignore them. The camera men know what's up. Totally blown away last night.. They pretty much melted my face off right at the beginning. You could tell right off the bat what kind of night it was going to be when they ripped into It's So Easy.. My seats were PERFECT.. I picked them 9th row sections A2. Aisle seats just to the right of the center section on Slash's side. Close enough to see everything but also see the Screens too. Best of both worlds. Was worried we would get a shorter show due to curfews but they manned the fuck up and were out there rocking by 8:30. I think we actually may have gotten an extra song? No surprises in the set list. It's So Easy - Absolutely perfect. People went nuts for it.. First song but one of the many highlights. Brownstone - Perfect one two punch to whip the crowd into a frenzy CD - Perfect spot for the song. I don't mind it and it fits in better with the classics than the other CD stuff. Jungle- As overplayed as it is, may have been the highlight of the night. Wasn't feeling this during the April shows but they fixed the tempo issues and they just nail it. The anticipation during the extended "You Know Where You Are" part after the solo that Axl builds up sends chills up my spine. DTJ - Great. Wouldn't mind seeing this one rotated out for another Illusions track from time to time. Estranged - Continues to be one of this lineups stronger songs. Live and Let Die - Another surprise. I could have done without this song before the tour but have been really enjoying it. Axl is awesome on it. There seemed to be less pyro last night? At least less explosions which was great. I specifically remember an excessive amount of annoying explosions during this song in Vegas. I don't mind the flames but the explosions are just annoying and seem to throw everyone off for a second. Rocket Queen - Enjoyed it last night. Wasn't going to get hung up on the jam part but that even seemed better last night. Still not a fan of Fortus soloing in it but I muscled through that and the rest of the song was awesome. Still not what it should be but good none the less. You Could Be Mine- Hardly remember it New Rose - Not a giant fan but cool for Duff to get a spot. Before the tour I was worried he would be singing like 3 songs to give Axl a break. Apparently Axl doesn't need it and one song is perfect. This I love - Ran to take a much needed piss Civil War - Need to you tube.. I hardly remember this one either haha. It is spotty.. I was just rocking out the whole night. Sorry - If I had to piss again I would have but I stuck it out. The song just dragged and seemed to for a brief moment suck the life out of the place. Out ta Ge Me - So stoked we got this!!! It certainly whipped the life right back into the crowd immediately. Coma - Awesome.. Another one they could rotate once in awhile with another Illusions track. Godfather - Slash fanatic but could take or leave this one. Not saying I don't like it because I do, it's just tired. Sweet Child - Not Axl's strongest but still my favorite solo of all time.. People love it and the where do we go part is still fucking gold. My Michelle - This song doesn't excite me anymore but it was a nice surprise and it is certainly a fan favorite, People were really into it. Better - If poop made a sound, this is it. Such an awful song. I really don't get it and it didn't seem like most of the people there did either. I get that there is a knitch group of fans that like that stuff but most people just don't and I wish Axl would just accept it. Throw those people a bone and play a song or two but 4 songs is just wayyy too many. Especially when they are only playing one song off LIES. Wish You Were Here - Could take it or leave it. Not a huge Floyd or Fortus fan Layla - awesome.. Came a long way since Vegas November Rain - Don't remember much, was just lost in Slash's solos. KOHD - Was good.. Not as great as back in the day, Too much Fortus Nightrain - Another one of the songs that this band just destroys. In a good way! Angie - I haven't watched any videos yet but they extended this longer than the other night. Loved it Patience - Fuck man.. Don't remember much of this one for some reason either. My brain was on overload. The Seeker - Well fuck me. Don't like the Who and there are a million better songs they could play and I wish they would but I still liked it! ha! PC - The predictable closer but it was good. Seemed better than a lot of the ones i have watched online. Slash played like the entire second half of the song with his guitar behind his head. That was it fellas.. Fucking awesome show. Haven't changed my stance on the other ones.. Don't care for Fortus. Frank has improved to the point where he doesn't always stick out like a sore thumb. Melissa is still useless and looks like a retard up there. Still too many CD songs. But aside from those few things it was an amazing show. They kicked ass and took names. The energy was incredible. The tailgating and atmosphere was incredible. Axl, Slash and Duff are still rock gods and it looks like we could have a few more solid years of this shit to look forward too. The crowd was amazing. Comments and reviews online, on the radio and on facebook have been great. Nothing but a positive buzz. Guns used to be huge around here back in the day. There were a lot of skeptical people around leading up to this show. A lot people gave up on Axl a long time ago. The man seems to be on a mission and he is winning fans respect back. Including myself. If there was a day in between shows I would go again but not going to be able to make it tonight on 3 hours of sleep. Probably a million typos in here but I am not proof reading it right now.. Off to you tube Angie! Edited July 20, 2016 by Tom-Ass

Sorry, I realized I haven't posted any reactions yet but we've mostly just been recuperating all day. The show was incredible, the whole band was on fire and Axl was on the top of his game. Some of his screams I couldn't believe they were real, even with all the videos I've been watching of the tour. Even areas where he's typically a little weak he was on fire. Emma (the wife) and I had an awesome time, met another board member sitting right in front of us but I forgot to get her name. She came over to us to tell my wife she had seen her photo on the board here. All in all it cakes the cake for the best concert I've ever been to, seriously looking forward to another, and hoping against hope that they have their act together enough to create some new music moving forward.

TheFormerSoul
Quick Review The show was really great overall. Lenny Kravitz really did a good set despite a few technical hiccups. Axl was on point for most of the show and his quality of voice wasn't really a big issue. Slash played great, and I was impressed with fortus as well. Very few criticisms about the show itself, the only thing I noticed was that although Axl still performs well he looks frail and weathered these days. It was a really awesome show, but I get the impression that the main glue that holds this tour together weighs heavily on leaning on the past rather then a continuation of the GnR story.
