Popular Post dustindmnd2
Had the privilege of attending last night's GnR show. Never, ever thought I would actually get to see Axl and Slash on stage together, so that was pretty surreal. The show was amazing (even from my seats, which were up high in the 200s on the side at about the 50 yard line). As others have stated, Axl was just on fire! Not just his singing, which was powerful, but his presence is amazing. Every dance move and gesture gets the crowd further engaged, and he is hard to take your eyes off. Slash was amazing, and someone who won me over was Frank. The drumming was a great balance between precision and feel, aggressive but tight. He was a really nice surprise. Ok, so here are some personal highlights for me: - Coma was my song of the night. Just thought Slash was very intense throughout, the solos amazing, and Axl nailed it. It can be hard to keep a crowd engaged in a 10 minute "deep cut," but everyone was into it as it built to a climax. - A very impressive moment was the ending of Estranged (which it was so cool to finally hear Slash bending those strings live on). As Axl was singing, "I never wanted it to die..." as he brought that note from low to high, it felt like our whole section erupted at the vocal move. Such an impressive change there, kinda sounded like something a skilled vocalist might do in a broadway play, very dramatic. LOVED IT! - A unique aspect of our show that some may have noticed was that as Better (enjoyed the new intro, BTW) and Out ta Get Me were being played, behind the stage on the horizon, the Disney World fireworks were going off. Kinda cool. - Wasn't looking forward to any Duff sung songs, but he killed it with Attitude. The crowd definitely fed of him, and Slash and Fortus seemed to up their energy, rocking extra hard on this one, super into it. - Another pleasant surprise was the Seeker. I've watched some clips from past shows of it and felt like it wasn't working, but as those of us who have been to the shows will note, how a song comes across on youtube doesn't matter, its how it feels live, and they can differ. and I felt like the Seeker was a really fun, stomp your feet rocker. That's about it. Amazing show! Could gush about all of it, but I'll stop at this. Am just so thankful Axl Slash n Duff got back together! Pubes.

Reminds me of the last Slash show I went to, the theater had no AC and it was July. It was raining Slash all over the front row. And Todd Kerns STILL did the whole show in his leather jacket!
Syk
Can I just say how much I truly enjoyed the "with your ass in the air" line? Experiencing that live was a FUN and unexpected moment. Really kicked the song up a notch for me! Edited July 30, 2016 by Syk

You are right KK. I saw them in Vegas and I thought they were good. Then I saw them in Detroit and they were better. But last night was much better than Detroit. They were amazing last night. You could see the sweat pouring off of Slash when he was running across the stage. It was definitely hot. It was fun tailgating with you before the show. Dave. axlthepose
When I stated that AXL was in a Foul Mood Last night, Did you not notice the end of a few songs where slash kept doing a solo over the ending . At one point axl rolled his eyes and said Those Pesky Guitarists , But you need them anyway . Something like that . Axl was alot more talkative at this show than others I watched on Periscope as well . Im not reading anything into it , just something I saw in person and heard . Also did everyone notice that GNR didnt do the Gun Shots in the Beginning of the Show ? All the other shows they had revolvers firing before they came on . But due to the respect for the Pulse Nightclub Shooting Victims , GNR didnt use those graphics of shooting guns at the start of the show . Great Show , High Energy . They did Dont Cry instead of Patience , which I was happy to see since last time I saw Dont cry was 92 With Slash . I see why they do the SEEKER , Its because they like the Jam and Energy it brings them back to do PC . A Class ACT . - Terry Next Month going to AXL/DC in Lauderdale Edited July 30, 2016 by axlthepose

TIL is AXL solo Song , Coma is Slash's Etc ... Duff has his Punk songs , Its a very awesome setup , As they all get to show off their own styles & influence. Its crazy how much attention Slash gets when he is out front , Ive seen both versions of GNR UYI & NUGNR and didnt think much of slash solo projects etc . But when he is with Guns he is the GOD he was supposed to be . No one in NUguns Era had that kind of Pull .

I think people are ecstatic to finally hear them done properly for the first time since 1993.
