no Croke Park annoucement anyway

Robbie Williams is playing the Aviva Stadium on June 17 2017 meaning theres still 2 Croke Park dates left to fill (only allowed 3 concerts per year, Coldplay took 1 date)

Of course Guns will do Croke they will defo do Ireland its a good bit bigger than Aviva & it closer to the Airport always a bonus..!!!

Apparently they're announcing all three at the same time. We shall see.

Hmm - what's the source? Looked back through a page or 2 and can see people mention it but no-one cites any source. For people not familiar, download normally trickle the headliners over a number of weeks and then the rest of the line up in the new year.

news article on the website

"This just in. Your official Download Festival 2017 headliners will be announced next Thursday, 3rd November at 7pm!

We can't wait to share with you the three headliners that will take to Donington for Download 2017, alongside a whole host of other great acts."

Holy shit you're right - wow this is very unlike DL!

Going to go with SOAD/A7X/Metallica.

Obviously would kill for GNR but unlikely... especially as GNR don't look like announcing European dates yet.

I heard North America next summer

dont even say things like that. Obv good for North americans but us europeans will be left out in the cold if this happens

Cant see GNR being a download headliner, GNR are too big to be announced alongside other headliners (if are they headlining GNR would have a standalone announcement IMO).

March seems way too early for outdoor gigs in most of Europe, could still be snow in the northern half of Europe at that point. Maybe Spain and Greece wold be ok for stadiums, but most central and northern places...I wouldnt want to be doing a stadium gig at that time and even late March into April is risky weather wisr.

May really is THE realistic earlist starting date...any earlier is too early for outdoor gigs for 75 per cent of Europe...Not to mention the football season is still in full swing so most stadiums would be out of the question anyway.
