Fitha_whiskey
Mixed feelings. I like AIC, but just saw them in Vegas. I'm not gonna complain though, because I like their tunes. Some bands discussed in the rumor thread were absolute shit shows... So, I'm ok with it...

I don't hate them, but they were OK at best in Vegas. Now I'm stuck with them at both shows I'm seeing.
Popular Post James Bond
A big "lol" at all the delusional people on the AIC Facebook who are making comments like "Guns should be opening for you guys!" Like Guns or hate Guns, but they can sell out much larger venues than Alice can. Some of them have a good point - they had tickets for the Detroit Alice show but now can't afford to go because of the GNR prices. That's fair, but to say Alice can headline Ford Field? They couldn't do that with resurrected Layne Staley singing at his peak.
IncitingChaos
Imagine how fast the other tickets would go if they announced ACDC would be the opener on the remaining dates haha just a dream im not sure what they will do about the rest should be interesting!
Inglorious
So we will presumably have different openers from July 3rd-Aug 22nd? With Kravitz doing the 4 July shows obviously.
BadApples87
So, who is opening in Seattle and LA? I've seen AIC and Kravitz before, so all good. But, who is opening on the remaining dates? Axl/DC? Folks at the Kravitz shows can look forward to Always on the Run with Slash, and The Majority with Duff
rickjkd1977
I hope Lenny Kravitz is opening in Cincy! One of my favorites and I have never seen him.
BadApples87
The Cult's calendar is currently clear in August, so perhaps they will hit West Coast with GnFnR.
OTHAFA
Damn, wonder what they have in store for Los Angeles. I would LOVE to see Lenny Kravitz at the Dodgers Stadium show. I'm guessing they have something special planned for LA.

Black Sabbath
I'll get AIC in DC and Kravitz for NJ. Hope the Philly opener is good.
rocco
The German Version of Rolling Stone reports that both AIC AND Lenny will open the Chicago (3.7.), Boston (20.7.), New York City (24.7.) and Los Angeles (18. & 19.8.) shows... Probably someone only got "lost in translation" though... Fitha_whiskey
They (GnR official tweet) worded it kinda strange... "Alice in Chains. Lenny Kravitz. Special Guests on select dates"... So what the actual fuck does that mean? Are they themselves the special guests? (The video calls them both special guests). Or on select dates, are there even more double secret special guests in addition to these special guests??? GnR social media- always somehow creating more questions with every update... Just a guess but I'm thinking Sebastian Bach because he's Canadian and it's already sold out, so no need to get anyone bigger. Maybe an appearance from Trailer Park Boys. I think all it meant was that Lenny/Alice will open "select dates" as opposed to the full tour. Nothing really wrong with how it's worded I don't think. It alleviates the confusion that Lenny and/or Alice will be at all the dates. That's an improvement from how mysterious they usually are.

I agree that's probably all they're trying to say. But to me, saying "AIC & LK will be special guests on select dates" would be even less mysterious...
rocknroll41
Nice! I get to see Lenny live! so much for MSL and his claim that SMKC would be the opener. Tho I suppose the opener for all the dates hasn't been announced yet so we'll see.
