Am I the only GNR fan that has zero interest in AC/DC?

Well, on the few occasions when he appeared with some other artists, he always showed up on his own stage outfit, probably that's the case here, same applies to Slash, because his tophat is as iconic as Angus's school outfit

Btw this is not "Nice Guy Axl", it's just not his band and he knows his place, because AC/DC is one of his fav bands of all time... He is a lazy asshole sometimes, but also can be respectful if respect is mutual

The only thing is really different from his NuGNR outfit is the shaved porn star mustache and sometimes ditching the horrible fedoras, which is good enough. His face looks better but he will be ugly for the rest of his life (botox and meds is a fucked up thing) so therefore i don't really care about his looks and i'm trying to focus on his voice, because that's what matters

He was gorgeous for a great long while but now he looks like a fat ginger pudding with 3 chins.  It's OK, it's not meant to last forever, very few people retain good looks and it's unreasonable to claim or expect them to.  He's just an example of someone who didn't...at all.

He's lost a lot of weight but I admit he could lose more if he wanted. May not be that easy, though. His type of beauty, baby-face / girl looking, is really hard to keep past 30 but I don't find him essentially ugly.

I don't understand why people are so obsessed with his looks, specially the male fans. It's weird. I don't see as many females complaining about his looks as guys do. Why is that? 

Slash is fatter than Axl, yet he doesn't receive all this criticism regarding looks.

Well it's not a difficult equation is it, he's a rockstar, a great deal of his iconography is to do with dress, rockstars don't stand on music alone or they wouldn't be rockstars, they'd be musicians.  The two are not indivisible but, particularly with bands like Guns n Roses, they project an image, they sell an image.  Unfortunately when you get old it gets harder to maintain and it also shows a lot more than it does with someone like say Gary Oldman, whoose just a character actor and whoose iconography less rigid because he has stood traditionally upon his ability to do his job.

And the reason you don't see female fans complaining is because females that are into Guns n Roses are acutely aware of who he is and, more importantly, who he was.  It's to do with posters and ideals in a persons head regarding someone, hence why these aging celebrities always get 'he'll always be beautiful to meeee' comments from girls, which in itself is very telling.  It's in the word 'always'.  Also, men are generally less sentimental and like to take the piss, i know i do

I love Bon Scott era AC/DC and I know Axls a huge fan so I was pumped for this in the beginning. Axl has sounded amazing and its cool he's helped them out and bettered his reputation a bit. But the novelty has worn off. I wanna see him put this effort into Guns. Slash and Duff are back and he should be solely focused on that. And its a bit annoying he's done two official photos with Angus and the guys and none with Guns. It just makes it feel like he's half assing GNR. So I hope he doesn't continue with AC/DC after these makeup dates.

From what you saying, I guess people would be less cruel to him if, past his prime of looking so good, he would have focused more on the musician side of him, releasing more music, getting involved in more musical projects instead of band drama and other external drama. Say, would have taken the Slash path, who's fatter than ever, but the guy became the best guitarist of the century and never stopped working. Slash got more respect than Axl in the music industry and not many complain to much about his looks.

Axl with AC/DC is doing now what he should have done during all those wasted years. If he nails all of this and the reunion shows, hopefully people will not focus so much on his looks and see what he's got as a singer.

I think this should be a good favour, it's fun to see but gnr is the home of axl and really always will be. 

Not a huge acdc fan here but it's wearing old, just something new, from gnr would be excellent

The best thing about this stint is hearing Axl sing new music. 

The worst thing is that he probably should be in the studio with Slash and Duff creating a new GnR album. 

But that's kind of Axl's MO for his entire career. Even when he is kicking ass, he still ends up not doing everything he could to either cement his legacy as one of the GOAT or to do what is best for the FANS of GnR. 

I'm glad Axl sounds great and is having fun with ACDC. 

But a one-off would have been way cooler. Even the interest in the forum has dropped off. The last acdc show topic is at 14 pages. 

A one-off and then back to the studio with the GnR boys. Yes fans want to hear the classics. But we've heard Axl/Slash play the classics together hundreds upon hundreds of times. And we've heard Axl sing SCOM and PC on stage for almost 30 years. 

There is no reason at all that Axl-Slash-Duff couldn't have spent the last month coming up with 2-3 new songs to play on the regrouping tour. 

Three new songs. Release them on iTunes. Play them live.

I don't see how Axl doesn't look like himself. He didn't get a nose job or cheek implants. He's just aged. Slash has aged too. Check old videos, he's not hot as he used to be. He's got a double chin, not only beer gut, his arms and legs are pretty chubby too.

I see no reason to body shame these guys. Slash's job is to play guitar. He isn't a fitness instructor. 

You are focusing on the wrong thing. How would you feel if these comments were directed at you or your daughter? If you posted a picture on FB and people responded that you were fat and ugly. How would that make you feel?

Slash is fat and who Axl dated 30 years ago. GnR fans are a weird bunch.

Lol I love Slash, but all of this is true. None of them are what they used to be nowadays. It's only fair that Slash sometimes gets at least a little of the flak Axl always gets.

I'm not shaming him. I'm saying that Slash has aged and changed as much as Axl has, but it's only Axl the one who gets all the "body shaming" "face shaming" and what not. Try to find me here complaining about Slash looks, aside from what I commented above. Zero results.

No, I'm sorry. I was talking to someone, having a conversation with another poster on this topic and that's all about it. 

About Facebook, lol, Im not a public figure. My looks are not subject of conversation for other people because I'm a regular woman and I already know that I'm fat and ugly. My Facebook contacts are mostly friends and family. I don't post a lot of pics of myself over there because I hate having my pic taken and I really doubt those people would tell me anything harsh, even if they actually thought those things about me. They have to see my ugly face the next day, so..

I know what it entitles to expose yourself publicly so if I was ever to show myself in public I know that, no matter how good I think I look, there will always be someone who thinks I'm ugly, fat and old. How would I feel about it? Nothing. I'm a mature person and I understand how this game is played. I won't lose sleep over people shaming my body because I'm not a model, I don't work with my image, I don't make money out of my looks. I'd be worried if they were shaming my intelligence or my knowledge on the things I work with.

I've always been an AC/DC fan.

The Bon Scott albums are fucking great. 

Somewhere in time I had lost interest in the band, due to me not really being a fan of much of their work past Back In Black. That was in my opinion their last solid record. Everything after that had a tune here and a tune there.

Axl filling in for Johnson only rejuvenated my interest. I was unsure how it was going to sound, but from the first night he's been absolutely killing it.

If they were to decide to keep Axl on as their frontman past these dates I would be happier than a pig in shit. Think about it. Axl Rose, lead singer or two legendary rock n' roll bands. That's fucking badass!

Axl should be rehearsing with Guns and preparing for the tour for quite a time now. But he still drags his ass around Europe not even giving one thought to the tour that is just about to begin and still adding shows . Once he finishes the ACDC shit to which he has given all he had in him, we're gonna be left with a half dead, tired, voiceless and disinterested Axl dreaming of going home and getting a  rest and a vocal coach to prepare for September with ACDC. And the tour will be cancelled half way through for whatever reason.  That's what I'm afraid might happen.
