In fact, some fawning of us alleged adults over Slash, Izzy, etc sounds like a good idea. This thread has been a bit Axl (and Duff) heavy recently. Not that that is a bad thing in my eyes, but some variety can only be a good thing and we do have some people here who're more into the Slash etc side of things (I see you lurking there @janrichmond ). I'm gonna post some nice Slash and Izzy pictures tomorrow.

I have actually posted this exact thing on several different places but included that the Fu Manchu must go ( which thank God happened ) and that Axl stop wearing those heavy coats and layers of clothes...he is not fat, he is just somewhat heavier than when he was back in the day ( most former coke users do gain plus getter older doesn't help ) but without the heavy jackets and layers of shirts he looks GOOD. he also needs to ditch the dark glasses his eyes are so beautiful and I enjoy seeing the crazy look they get sometimes ...yeah maybe I am weird but oh well . I liked it when Bon got the crazy eyes look as well. Axl has the exact same kind of hair I have...super baby fine. but I have a LOT of it so mine has always looked thicker than his. my hair color was also the exact same color as his, that red gold color that a lot of Irish and Scottish people have, I was not born there but have many direct ancestors from there plus German, just like Axl! maybe we're related  I don't think he needs or wants Erin to get it done for him JMO but I am pretty good when it comes to reading people and I think Axl holds a pretty hard grudge against people who "done him wrong" and a chick who has accused him of beating her and helped another woman whom Axl clearly adored in a lawsuit against him, well that would take a lot of forgiving on anyone's part. plus the timing of this whole Erin posting pro GN'R and things like "hope so too" when someone posts "wish they'd get back together" is suspect to me because right now Axl is experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity not to mention big bucks flying in left and right. call me a cynic but that would give me pause to reflect on what her reasons are and if they are the infamous "right reasons"! more than anything I want Axl protected from going thru a bad relationship yet AGAIN. love ya LOTS Axl!

For those of us who aren't interested in the ogling (which is totally fine and good and all! Just not for me! ), another topic maybe...have you ever met any of the band members? I met Duff on his book tour and he was incredibly sweet, as one would expect, even though I was jabbering like an idiot   because I was so glad to meet him. I am still kicking myself that I missed Slash's book signing when his memoir was released.

Have never met any of the band members..lucky you! One thing that I did glean from both of their books though..is how much our perception of things colours our memories and perhaps truths of events..its a small thing, but just how Duff had all these details and was adamant about how he was the one who quit from Steven and Slash's band..and in Slash's book, HE had all these details and was adamant that HE was the one who decided to quit the other two..I just found it interesting. How our memories are not necessarily the full "truth" and things like that could go toward explaining this long rift between all or some of them..

I met slash in 2001 on his snakepit club tour in Sheffield. He was wasted so didn't really talk much and the whole time people were shoving things at him to sign, which was annoying. Lots of people turned up who couldn't get tickets and they were being arseholes! 

Everyone who spoke to him as he was going into the gig was saying what a wanker Axl is and how they all hated him and slash just laughed. 

Half way through the show and they decided to play a GnR tune (can't remember if WTTJ or ISO) but the singer, Rod Jackson, did an Axl impression and the whole place threw their beer pots at him and stuck their fingers up at him while chanting Axl lol

Axl was involed in lawsuits against Slash and Duff. We know there was a lot bad blood among them for many years. He called Slash a cancer and yet they arer back together. I don't  see why the same can't happen between Axl and Erin despite all the shit that went on between them. Besides Erin went to a GN'R show in Atlanata back in 2011. That was before any reunion. She has been saying a lot of nice things about Axl long before his resurgence popularity as you put it. I'd rather see Axl back with Erin than see him in the company of some porn star, stripper or escort service chick like that Sasha Volkova or Volcano or whatever her name is.

I only ever met Axl and that was 2 weeks ago. Like I said in the Mr. And Mrs. Young thread, he was grumpy at first. I could tell he was in a mood the moment he stepped out of his car. While some people pushed forward, I actually took a step back. Axl's a pretty tiny guy (didn't seem much taller than I am), but he's pretty terrifying when pissed off. Even his eyes look kind of different, in a slightly scary way. Axl then proceeded to push past people and made some pissed off comment (don't remember what it was exactly, but something like "Oh great, just fucking great!"). Anyway, Vanessa and Fernando and Axl's bodyguard managed to get the situation under control and Axl seemed to pull himself together and calm down a little. So he starts posing for pictures with people and signing autographs and stuff, but then there was this kid whose camera didn't work properly and Axl got mad at the kid Shortly after that it was my turn and I thought "great, now I gotta deal with pissed off Axl". I checked to make sure my camera and my pen were working () and said some nice, complimentary things to Axl in hopes of getting him to cool down a little. I did manage to make him smile a bit. After that things went more or less smoothly and he was reasonably polite, patient and friendly. Even went out of his way to fulfill some request etc. Still not the charming, joyful and funny guy he can be when he's in  a good mood, but decent. I'll give him points for managing to keep himself together, even if he clearly didn't feel like it. That's gotta count as progress or something 

I also met a woman who got to hang out with some of the guys a bit in 1992. She said both Duff and Slash were very, very sweet (much more so than she expected) and polite. But she said Duff was (unsurprisingly) pretty drunk and a bit of a mess. He was walking around barefoot and nearly naked, with nothing but some tiny shorts on and seemed a bit confused.

Yep. Erin has been posting nice and forgiving things about Axl since 2014 (?) or so on her Instagram, been at his concert etc. It's not that new of a development. It has just really reached a peak recently with her actually saying she still loves him and wishes they were still together.

I agree with you. I think Erin is the only woman he's ever truly loved and she's the only one who's ever truly loved him. I think he was her first love, only husband, only marriage. Same for Axl.

Erin is 10000000 times better and more suitable for Axl than any of those idiots he's introduced to daily. Those brazilian models, escorts and clueless idiots who don't have the slightly idea of whom he is.

I love this post. I was wanting to ask you about meeting him and what is he like in "real life". I've always wondered if he's as small as I think he is. Haha, I find that cute. But I do get what you mean about the look in his eyes. I know that look. I had a boyfriend who would give me that look when he was getting mad and about to get violent. I'm also very scared of that look and I've seen Axl in shows with that look in his eyes. That makes me sad

It's being discussed in the Social Media Update thread as well, but getting an autograph really seems pointless. There's nothing to even brag about - what, you have some ink from an ordinary pen on a picture/arm/sheet, but just because your idol signed it, it makes it holy or something? To me it's not that important to have a material reminder that you met them, memories are much sweeter. I'd much rather chat for a minute if I ever met a member of my favorite band and ask them some question that's been on my mind - like what a certain lyric means, or what's the inspiration behind a song, or new music or something relevant. Or just thank them for being an inspiration and creating such amazing art.

i'm gonna agree to disagree with you on this. I don't see them together as a good thing. Axl may never have called her a "cancer" but he did believe she murdered Axl's children in a previous life.if you believe Erin herself she claims Axl was abusive physically and mentally. Also Axl and Slash have had a VERY long relationship much longer than Axl and Erin were "married" which since they got it annulled they never even were really married according to the definition of an annulment. so many reasons I don't think they are ever going to get back together but you believe whatever you want and i will do the same. oh and in case you don't agree that they were never really married here is the definition of ANNULMENT:

Phew, girl! Let's see:

- I'm 1.70 m and he did not really seem significantly taller than me. So whenever a  guy is around the same height as me (or smaller) they automatically seem tiny to me. I'd say Axl is probably around 1.74 or 1.75 m

- Sorry to hear that about your boyfriend. I've thankfully never been in a situation like yours, but I've seen that look happen with other people as well. Usually very damaged and messed-up people. Hope you're in a better situation nowadays.

- I don't remember the exact words anymore but it was something along the lines of "This is bullshit, either you come here with all your stuff working or you don't come here at all and don't waste everybody's time!..."  Something like that. It was over pretty quickly though, Vanessa finally got the camera to work and took a picture and that was it. (It was Vanessa's job taking pictures of everybody there). And LOL, I'm fucking sensitive as well and I'm glad it wasn't me.

- He signed some random piece of paper I had in my handbag I didn't plan on having him sign anything, I just wanted to have a picture with him. But everyone else was taking a picture with him AND giving him stuff to sign, so I thought why not.

- After I'd told him that I was happy to see him out and about and that he sang really well tonight and stuff like that, he smiled a bit and said "Thanks, I appreciate it." And then it was already the next person's turn. There was no time for long conversation; Vanessa, Fernando and the bodyguard were trying to keep everyone in line and let everyone have a picture and then get away.

- I didn't particularly notice his eyes. It was outside in the middle of the night, so pretty dark. And he was wearing a hat as well, so hiding his eyes even more.

- I remember thinking his skin looked weirdly... red? Compared to mine and everyone else's around at least. He does look a lot younger in real life than he does in most pictures, though. I don't find him very attractive anymore in most pictures nowadays, but he didn't look too bad in real life.

Yes, she did call him "My first love" or something in one of her Instagram posts, iirc. It also speaks well for her that she fell in love with before he was rich and famous. Probably the only person on the planet who can claim that (except for Gina Siler maybe).

I agree, I'd rather have a picture with someone or chat with them a bit. But since everyone else was getting one, I didn't say no to an autograph either. I was lucky, I ended up getting all three things (even though it wasn't possible to talk to him for very long).

You know, I've read more than one comment by GnR insiders that Axl's eyes change color when he's angry, and that he turns into someone really frightening. Yikes that you saw him in that state of mind. I am glad that you were able to have a good moment with him, despite that. I haven't really been following anything about Axl in AC/DC, so I must have missed this story when it was told there - thank you for sharing it again here!

Like I said to @killuridols it was in the middle of the night and it was pretty dark, so I didn't really notice his eye color much and I definitely didn't notice his eye color changing. It was more the expression in his eyes and face when he climbed out of the car and tried to storm away that I thought was a bit scary. But I can totally believe what you're saying. By Axl standards he probably wasn't even that mad, but I still didn't exactly wanna stand in his way or do anything else to piss him off even more. He did have a bit of a frightening/potentially violent aura around him.

It was a thread I started in D&N about meeting Angus Young and his wife and what they (mostly his wife) said about Axl. I didn't really tell the story of meeting Axl himself in much detail there.

Axl may never have called her a "cancer" but he did believe she murdered Axl's children in a previous life.if you believe Erin herself she claims Axl was abusive physically and mentally. Also Axl and Slash have had a VERY long relationship much longer than Axl and Erin were "married" which since they got it annulled they never even were really married according to the definition of an annulment. so many reasons I don't think they are ever going to get back together but you believe whatever you want and i will do the same. oh and in case you don't agree that they were never really married here is the definition of ANNULMENT:

An annulment of marriage is a legal decree that a marriage is null and void.Annulments are granted when a court makes a finding a marriage is invalid. While a divorce ends a legally valid marriage, an annulment treats the marriage as if it never existed.

oh and if Erin has been sniffing around Axl since 2011 she sure hasn't gotten very far as I am sure she would have posted it on her Instagram by now like she has EVERYTHING else!!!

That annulment thing sounds like bullshit. They did get married. Maybe legally it puts you in a state of "never been married" but what does getting married really mean? In their hearts they did, they took a picture, she wore a veil and a bouquet of white flowers. No paper can undo those memories and the things that happened.

It's so ridiculous that a figure like "annulment" even exists.

I find it slightly odd people wanting Axl and Erin back together or the suggestion that she is the only women Axl has ever loved. 

How many of you would go back to a man you were in love with 30 years ago. Not even going to mention by their own admittance it was at times a toxic relationship.

How does anyone know who he has loved or who he is in love with. I've always wondered about the relationship with Beta, yes I know the reference to being like a mother and she's his manager, but what if that's a smoke screen? I always rather hoped she is more than a momager  as it means he found somebody. An unlikely couple it might seem on the surface but would it be that odd ?

Anyway whatever the case, I hope he does have someone special, and good luck to her, I get the impression she would need the patience of a saint.

I've noticed that through video and some pics. I wonder what it is... I have this theory that he's got some peeling or facial treatment done for the wrinkles but the red shouldn't stay for so long. I refuse to believe this redness is due to his alcohol addiction everybody here talk about

The pictures are so deceiving and Axl has that kind of thing of looking so very different in pics taken at the same time or the same day. Sometimes he looks too old or too young. I dont know what it is but its strange.

She was very young when they met and he was trying to make it in music. So I do believe her he was her first love.
