Its still Lebeis not Rose *Rose Family, I like tht!*

Axl always wanted His own Family, Wife N' kids

I highly doubt that he still wants a familiy, he is 54 and  partying all the nights (it seems) with young girls. The relationship with Sasha is extremely weird too. I don´t get how they are dating for about 10 years  and have ZERO plans to marry or have childrens.:o

Well done Duff. A nice and practical and normal gift and something Slash obviously seems to like  I love seeing what they all got him. And I'd also like to know what other T-shirts Duff picked out for him (just how many did he get him? Sounds like he bought him an entire mountain of shirts ).

Oh no, please keep getting carried away some more.  I definitely enjoy your pervy-ness :P

Yeah, exactly. What Slash says isn't untrue and I agree with him on the things he says, and I can definitely see how that kind of behavior would be exhausting for him to deal with and could drive one crazy, but it's just not appropriate to spread this stuff out in a magazine like that. It's something he should have talked to Duff about for example if he felt like he needed to vent or something.

Omg, finally I get a chance to bitch about Kat's photos. They've been irritating me for a long time. I mean they're nice to look at and everything, but they all seem like they had the shit processed out of them in photoshop and more importantly THEY'RE ALL FULL BODY SHOTS AND I CAN BARELY SEE THEIR FACES. I mean some pictures like that are fine, but it's practically ALL of them. Like seriously woman, give me some fucking close ups, head shots, portraits or whatever :max::max: I'm so tired of all these distance shots.

It's not really a problem with the stage photos, because there are a lot of talented fan photographers who take the kind of picturs I want (like the examples above), but it's really annoying with the behind the scenes stuff, because she's the only one who can take pictures there and they're still the same boring pictures she always takes.

Why not some closer up pictures of Duff and Axl talking, Slash and Axl smiling at each other, hugging, whatever. Just something besides the eternal full body shots of everyone standing around in one place. And drop the constant black and white everything. Why is everything always in black and white? Is color not rock n roll or cool enough or something? Urgh.

No, it's really not the same and Axl seems to know that too deep down. He's said and done a number of things over the years that give the impression that Axl is not truly happy with just having the Lebeises and knows they're basically paid "family" who wouldn't be there if it weren't for his money.

Just off the top of my head:

- He whined to a user from this forum about being lonely

- He recently made a comment about his "sad sad love life"

- He fired Beta when he got upset with her over the whole Doug Goldstein issue (or threatened to fire her? I don't remember anymore). But either way, you can only fire paid sycophants and not real family

- Not to mention Beta blackmailing/emotionally manipulating Axl into making her and her children the managers of GnR. Not exactly the actions of a loving "mother".

- Even in the 2000s, he was still dreaming about having children

- He was also still dreaming about finding the right woman, but was worried about people only being after his money and not loving him for himself

Maybe he's given up on the last two things by now, but it doesn't matter- you just don't get that close, intimate connection that a loving husband and wife (like Duff and Susan) have and which Axl seems to crave from your personal assistent, or a couple of Fernandos and Sashas running around. Or from random hook-ups with the air head models they keep throwing at him. You also don't get that bond and the unconditional love that exists between parents and children from having your assistent's children around or having your assistent's grandchildren named after you.

IMO, Axl probably likes to have the Lebeises around because they keep him company, they distract him, and they keep him from falling into a pit of complete despair and loneliness (and have kept him from doing so in the past when he was at really low points in his life). And he likely enjoys Beta mothering him a bit due to his messed up childhood and all these issues. But to compare what they are to an actual loving family like the McKagans? Nope, no way.

Where and when did he make the comment" sad sad love life" ??? :shrugs::blink: I didn´t heard this.

I bet he loves Beta so much (and her childrens too, they are like his siblings) you could see in his actions: they are living together, and he always talks about Beta and does plans with the Lebelies.

The blackmailing/emotionally manipulating (like you said) I see as questionable, like her love and care are conditional (but I don´t know if that interview is a good source).

Duff and Susan are a lovely couple, I see so much love in these two, sadly I don´t see any affection  in the couple (?) : Sasha-Axl . Only poses.

I doubt he fired Beta, but if it that is accurate, I think is possible: when you mix love and work this could happened. ( I know cases of this).

It doesn't make sense to you because you think Sasha and Axl are dating and are an actual couple. Which they are not. Sasha's just an escort/Axl's beard/Axl's cat sitter/a fuck buddy. Not his actual girlfriend.

Or do you think Axl would whine about being lonely and his sad love life if he were happily in love with Sasha? Or date and fuck all these other women like Ellen Jabour while he was supposedly dating Sasha?

And Axl firing Beta is true. He got pissed at Beta when he found out she was still friends/talking to Doug Goldstein after he and Axl had had their falling out.

*and their name is Lebeis, not Lebelies

lNot sure about the offensive meaning of the word tranny though. I used it as a short word to adjectivate (sp?) the outfit.
Writing "transvestite clothing" sounded too formal, boring and long to use it in a context where I was just making fun of the vest.

I got that. The point is, 'tranny' is an inherently derogatory term in English. Some people attempted to normalize it as a way for cross-dressers to empower themselves but it didn't take. It's been mostly used as a slur in reference to trans women for a long time, since transgender people started being conflated with drag queens. There's pretty much no way to use it as an unonffensive word, because it's intended to be one.

Axl's dumb remarks about lesbian women could be talked about for a few reasons, but they don't really enter this conversation, because 'lesbian' isn't an insult. Now, had he used 'dyke', that would very much a reason to give him shit.

That's what SEPTEM wrote in the thread:

"did anybody noticed the axl/slash thing right before TIL last verse??

It was kind'a  " you killed this one dude, nah u did, no you, we both". It was an honest, magical, hugely IMPORTANT and MUTUAL gesture that shows how healthy/respectfull/chill/cool/mature/FRIENDLY are things on this Guns N' Roses inside world."

Btw. Why does @Frey always like the hot pics of young Axl? :smiley-confused2:

I squinted a lot when watching the video he posted, Slash bowed first at Axl and then Axl bowed too, awwww, this cuties!

@MillionsOfSpiders yeah, that enviorement would mess a lot with a young mind and have lasting effects even if he came to distance himself from church

@killuridols @Lumikki i think he finally asked for help from an actual therapist, i don't think any threath would be enough when he is in a mood

Yeah, but Axl does have some experience with the real world, doesn't he? There was a time before he lived in a bubble of babysitters and entourage people. How did he ever become manager at Tower Records and things like that if he was behaving that way? And while I can picture some people around him putting up with his behavior and fulfilling his every wish (like Erin for example), I can't imagine that people like Izzy spent a lot of time running after him to wipe his ass. I mean obviously they too were kind of watching out for him (at least according to Izzy), but I hardly think they did it to the extent Doug Goldstein, Duswalt, Beta etc. do/did. So he should have at least some idea of how things work in the real world and how his behavior can negatively affect others. But apparently not :shrugs:

Well, there's shades of things, there could be period where he was better and it depends on what he didn't or did want to do.

I'm just super happy the trinity is hanging out together after the show, that's all i care about.

By the way, while I was googling for that quote about Axl's religious upbringing, I accidentally solved a CSI:GnR issue we were discussing here a while ago- how much older Axl's father was than this mother. According to Rolling Stone at least, 4 years older:

Born to a 16-year-old mother and 20-year-old father in Lafeyette, Indiana in 1962, William Bruce Rose, Jr., was renamed William Bruce Bailey a couple years later, after his father left and his mother remarried. In interviews in the early Nineties, after undergoing psychotherapy, he recalled being sexually molested by his father; he said his stepfather, in turn, physically beat both him and his mother. Several times a week, the family went to a Pentecostal church, which Rose later described as being filled with other abusive adults. But he found comfort there nonetheless, teaching Sunday School and developing his wide vocal range while singing along with siblings in a group called the "Bailey Trio."

Anyone remember what this means regarding the yearbook pictures and stuff?

lol I don't know what Izzy said. I hardly read anything Izzy says unless it is GN'R related, I don't find him cool but I'd like to know more about that.

omg wtf UFO guy? :rofl-lol:

what a weirdo

"...But for Axl, I know for the longest time, because his face was all over the television and stuff, I don't think he could really go anywhere or do anything. And I think because of that he kind of put himself in a little hole up there in the hills. He kind of dug in deeper and deeper and now I think he’s gone so fucking deep he’s just… I mean, I could be completely wrong. But I know he doesn't drive [unheard of in LA] and he doesn't… He doesn't do anything. I’ve never, never seen him in town. Isolation can be a bad thing, and Axl’s been at it for a long time now. You know, he always stays up at night…” He drifts off, not even trying to find the words this time.

Isolated, always stays up all night and never goes anywhere/doesn't do anything? The way Izzy described Axl's life sounds pretty worrying. Slash has said something similar too about never having seen Axl anywhere in all these years. But then again, Axl recently said he did go to places and do stuff, so who knows :shrugs:All this must be especially concerning for Izzy because Izzy's the "I only drink tea and water, not even coffee, and I meditate and do yoga and run marathons and get up with the birds"- type nowadays. Meanwhile Axl stays up all night to watch Netflix / read here on mygnr or to party. :P

And yeah, some guy who claimed some of the stars in the sky were actually UFOs and he could move them with his mind because he was psychically connected to them. So they got that guy for Axl and then they spent some hours laying around staring at the sky and watched as the guy supposedly moved the stars/UFOs with his mind. Apparently that's how rockstars spend their time

Btw, while I was quickly trying to figure out why Duswalt stopped working for Axl, I came across a video of him telling some of the stories from his book (like how he usually had to stay up with Axl until 6 in the morning (that's apparently when Axl goes to bed), and then get up again at 8) and he said "I babysat Axl for 4 years." I don't know, but it kind of makes me sad how all these people (Alan Niven, Duswalt, Slash, etc.) refer to it as babysitting. I mean yeah, we joke about it here and that's fine, but I think it's kind of disrespectful and demeaning coming from the people actually close to him/working for him. Like lots of famous/sucessful people have personal assistants, but no one ever calls them their babysitters or says they're babysitting XY Famous Person. What the the Craigs, Dougs, Betas etc. of this world do/did is probably closer to actual babysitting than what most PAs do, but still

Yes, Axl is not completely against real therapists and psychiatrists I think. A long time ago, I was reading some old stuff from the early 2000s. Those years seem like they were a pretty bad time for Axl. He made some ominous comments on stage during that time, acted pretty crazily and then the entire tour got cancelled. There were even articles claiming that Axl wanted to check himself into a psychiatric hospital.

If that is actually true, then he must have been doing pretty badly back then, if he was considering a stay in a psychiatric facility.

You don't need to grow up poor to dream about a collection of cars  But the quote about his religious upbringing you posted reminded me that he also talked about them all sleeping in bunk beds in one room as kids in that interview (or a similar one). So if they squeezed all the kids into one room, they probably didn't have a very big house. And didn't there use to be pictures around of the house Axl supposedly grew up in? That was pretty small as well from what I remember, so that fits with the bunk bed thing and means they probably weren't all that well off.

Well, Axl's life wasn't exactly smooth and incident-free before he had his handlers though. He constantly got into trouble, both in Lafayette and in LA. And Izzy and Slash already had to deal with quite a lot of crazy behavior from Axl long before they got famous (Axl constantly getting into fights with random people and the police, the conctact lenses incident, the car incident, etc.).

And yeah, I vaguely remember the bunk bed thing now. I remember Axl talking about having nightmares as a child an falling out of his bunk bed and biting through his bottom lip or something.

I remember reading about this in Duswalt's book, they were in Vegas and Axl told him to find this UFO guy, I forgot his name, so somehow Craig found him and this guy had the ability to move the stars with his fingers or something.

It would be really hard to be Axl's Assistant or any celebs assistant cause the things which they ask for, its so hard to get them man.

I remember reading an article in Classic Rock once about babysitters to the big rock stars, it was all anonymous, there were a lot of stories about having to pick up a certain rock star who was always passed out, but would piss on them as soon as he was slung over their shoulders, we know who right?

There were some really crazy things , but the UFO story was in it, and I knew who that'd be.

There was another, even better one though....An assistant had accompanied a "big rockstar" to an outdoor show for a sound check, the rockstar was already grumping about having been woken up and when they got there he was even grumpier to find it was raining, so he turned around to his assistant and asked him, in all seriousness, to go and do something about the rain!!! The guy said he was so worried because he lacked the ability to turn off rain

(it wasn't Axl, most people think it was Steven Tyler, but I did suspect Axl lol)

Theres more chance of an assistant being able to turn rain on and off than spotting Axl at a soundcheck though.

True, but it seems Axl is trying to change, like a GNR show starting at 9.25 ? that is WOW

When I went to see him in 2012, the show started 3 HOURS LATE!

I guess this is the best place to ask

Is putting on makeup really important for you girls?

Yeah its ok to put it, but there are some people who won't step out of the house if they don't wear it.

Cause well I have a friend who is not allowed to put on make up for a few days cause she had an eye surgery, so well she is saying she won't go out of the house and she doesn't wants anyone to meet her cause she won't be wearing any make up.

Im like its ok? People won't see her in a negative way or something. So I was just thinking that is it really that important for girls?

:P Well then maybe I'm not the most suitable person to answer this question, since I don't really wear makeup, and I often leave home bare faced, save for some sunscreen.

It depends on the woman. I know women who never wear make-up, women who sometimes wear make-up and a few who always wear make-up and don't leave the house without it (though I think that is a bit ridiculous). Every woman is different.

My thing is that why you care what others will think about you? If you can't wear for some reason, then it doesn't means you wont leave the house or you would not want to meet anyone.
