Gotta admit I really like that bit of info. For obvious Slaxl reasons, but I also wonder if that ever caused cute little problems, like you know, if Axl maybe moves around in his sleep a lot and hit Slash in the face or stomach with his elbow or knee lol. Or if one of them hogged all the blankets. Or if Slash pissed himself again. Can't imagine Axl was very thrilled to wake up in a wet bed because of Slash

And yes, I'm annoyed about the lack of fic from this period and the period when Axl was living with Slash as well. Oh and also the lack of stuff about the current period.

I kind of wish we had a fan fic sharing or recommendation thread or something. I like to read (and that includes fan fic), but I'm usually too lazy to even look for any because most of it is crap.

Oh, yeah. A lot of people know about Clyde. We had another snake named Bonnie, who was a small retic, while Axl was living at my house. One night Axl was sleeping on the floor, and I woke up and couldn't sleep at about four in the morning. My snakes were kept off of one of the bathrooms, and there was a hole in the side of their cage that wasn't completely covered by a piece of wood. They would sometimes push out, crawl over the wood and come into the bedroom, which was no big deal.

But anyway, one night I woke up at four and saw this retic right next to Axl, who is sleeping on the floor. I woke Axl up and said, "Axl, don't move! Whatever you do, don't move!" (laughs). The snake was really close, just like this (Slash holds his hand in front of his face like a snake's head). This retic was just sitting there...and sitting there. And Axl's not a snake guy, man. The snake never would have bit him, but Axl didn't know that (laughs). I kept saying, "Don't move. Just stay there!" This went on for almost an hour.

So, did Axl get back to sleep that night after you put the snake away?

No. He never even slept on the floor again!

 

So I guess The share bed again since couch in the living room is off limits

Well after the snake incident, Axl defintely had to sleep in Slash's bed For safety reasons. And Slash's bed definitely must have been the safest place (and there weren't any other options either, like you said @SerenityScorp)

I finally listened to that '06 Eddie Trunk interview and omg I laughed so much. Axl was like a totally different person. He was telling jokes, old stories, laughing, being funny. I couldn't believe it. Sebastian was hilarious, as always.

I don't know why, but for some reason this was really cute to me Glad someone's showing grumpy neurotic Izzy some love. And you can send me some of the avocados, I love these things.

And yes, Axl is really funny and charming for the most part there.

OT but I just have to tell you ladies that it is imperative that whomever you marry truly understand your gnr love 

last night my phone decided to go heywire and in order to even open it again, we had to completely reboot/erase the data. I was a hot mess, crying over all my stuff. My hubby was like "but you have all the good pictures of the kids on facebook and stuff right" and I was like "yeah, but my album of Duff pictures  " (sort of joking, sort of not) and he didn't even miss a beat. He said (while patting my back hahaha) "I'm sure you can find those again" 

Luckily for me, while I lost all contacts and apps, my pictures weren't touched. Neither was my music, since I was able to put "Kill The Internet" back as my ringtone - which is awesomely ironic, I know, considering he literally says to put your phone down in the song.

To me this is not a matter of auras or stuff like that. We dont know Nur Khan at all, we dont know Andrei and we know Axl to a certain extent. I dislike Khan and Andrei because of what they show me, not some imaginary thing. Andrei shows me that he makes a living by "using" women (I could use a harsher word but I don't want to judge without evidence). Organizing hives of models for Hollywood parties or celebrity parties I dont feel it is a particular talent to be proud of. Picking women from a crowd of thousands, based on age and looks, just to sexually expose them to men who could be their fathers is not something to be proud of. Nur Khan doesn't strike me as "malevolent", lol, or creep... More like one of those many guys who work the night life, with all the things associated to it (alcohol, drugs, prostitution, shady characters). Maybe he's a good person with his family and friends but his job, ugh, that's something I have no respect for. It all seems so fake.... Yeah, I know it is a business. He's friendly to Axl because Axl is his client, a good paying client, a high paying client. Khan benefits a lot from hanging out with Axl: exposition, fame, more celebrities coming to his clubs. In conclusion, more $$$$ to his pockets. That's what this shit is all about.

Axl is part of that ugly market and that ugly circuit of consuming women like they were cigarettes. That is a dark and sad side of him. I dont know if this is something related to his childhood issues, the way he was raised, his mental inestability or whatever but it is not cool. And he's 54 years old. You'd think by that age you could have fixed or corrected whatever came wrong from your childhood. I mean, at some point, the way you run your life is entirely in your hands. Not your parents or relatives or friends.

That being said, that was many years ago and this is 2016 and it's a bunch of young women getting to go to a free concert which they seemed happy to do.  There's no evidence of Axl having sexual relationships with any of the models he hangs out with or any woman in fact.  Do I think that Axl believes that having a gaggle of models hanging around is a barometer of success of GNR?  Yes.  But as much as this board jokes about it, I'm not convinced that Axl is not gay or at least bisexual.  That's just my feeling.  He pings my gaydar.

I'm sorry, you are mixing a lot of topics and not making sense on any of them.

What was many years ago? Axl being seen with women? You are not well, my lady, or you don't keep up with GN'R news. Axl has never stopped dating women, models, friends, etc. What kind of evidence do you need about him having sexual relations with women? Do you need photos of him and the woman in bed? a video? a used up condom?

That's okay if you think he's gay. No one knows about that and I'm not going to argue your opinion.

But saying he doesn't consume women it is stubborn. He does. Even if it's just for chatting or hanging out. He has a pimp and he pays models to attend parties with him and other people. If that's not consumption of a service I don't know what it is.

@Lumikki That's the exact same vibe I get from Nur Khan. His eyes have no soul, he looks like a shark to me. Which is insulting to sharks. But he has dead eyes. So pissed off to see him back. 

Thanks @Frey your post made a lot of sense to me. I don't really think Axl is rotten to the core, just hate seeing him surrounded by creeps and liking them, and so condoning what they do. But I don't really think he's all bad.

Thing is, I have no horse in this race. I'm no chick who's got the hots for Axl and gets jealous of the women he dates/fucks and I'm also not gay or a homophobe, so I also don't care if he wants to fuck Slash (or other dudes). 

So I think I'm fairly neutral and unbiased. 

But despite the fact that he's kinda flashy, he's never really pinged my gaydar. Not saying he definitely isn't gay/bi (some of the Slaxl stuff discussed here in this thread for example is kinda eyebrow raising, I'll admit), but I can just never really see it when people think he's gay.

It's just my personal hunch, a combination of things that individually don't matter, but in combination....just makes me think that.  I don't care if he is either, no judgment from me.

Some of the stuff he said about gays back when he put out one in a million, just screamed denial to me.   Other things...his sensitive nature, propensity to act macho to prove something but never really being "one of the guys", love of accessories and flair, his strange relationship with Beta, affinity for gay or gay friendly artists (not just Freddie and Elton, but George Michael, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna, Liza Minelli, Depeche Mode etc.)

I'm not trying to convince anyone of my opinion, it's just what I think.  I know Alan Niven has pondered the possibility in at least one interview as well.

@MillionsOfSpiders, @Lumikki, I had to google this Nur Khan guy to see who he is and ...

As for Michelle Young, I'm afraid @killuridols is right about Axl not having anything to do with inviting her. And yeah, Axl seems to be interested in only a certain type of women. But he and Michelle were mainly friends who had "friendly" sex from time to time many years ago and he could see her just as that: an old friend. He doesn't need to be attracted to a woman to have a social relationship with her. I think the reason is that Michelle and the other women were associated with the early days of the band and Axl deliberately alienated himself from all those people, men and women, one after the other, mainly because they were still in touch with Slash and reminded him things he wanted to forget. There were additional issues with some of them, but not serious enough to justify a total fallout, at least as far as we know. Marc Canter was the only one who was in contact with both Axl and Slash, until Axl kicked him out too. One would expect that this would change now that Axl is with Slash again, but he seems to be still difficult and unwilling to let go and mend relationships with people from the past.

About the topic(s) discussed on the last pages (the models, Axl's entourage and friendships, his personality in general):

Axl was like that in the 90s, in terms of lifestyle and people he liked associating with. When they came here, he had asked for an after party with local top models (I assume he did the same everywhere they went). And he was hanging out with fashion people from Stephanie's circle. (Of course I don't consider the Vercaces to be on a par with the likes of Andrei; those were creative and successful people in their field, but still...). He wasn't an outlaw street rocker anymore (and he couldn't be without faking it), and after becoming rich and famous as a successful musician (a life dream come true), engaging the rockstar stereotype was the only "natural" thing he could think of doing then. The thing is that he didn't move on from that as he grew older and he's still fixated at the rockstar lifestyle cliches.

On the other hand, Axl wanted to evolve artistically and intellectually (and he had great potential for that, with his family background, mental and emotional issues being withstanding factors). He has always wanted to reach a more intellectual audience, beyond enraged teenagers, mid-western Americans like him and brainless metalheads (and this is why he has cared so much about what the critics say), which is contradictory to his public social life, but he doesn't seem to understand it. He wanted to work and be related with acclaimed musicians, but most of them avoided him (and those he did work with were there, to be honest, because the paycheck was very tempting), something that has been partially Axl's own fault and partially a result of a preconceived opinion of him, because people disliked him without knowing him personally. In general, Axl's public image and notoriety made him avoidable, even despised and hated, by many people. This, along with the loss of old friends one way or another and all his problems, made him vulnerable to people like Andrei and other leeches. And from a point on, this lifestyle and this kind of people became Axl's comfort zone and the life he is used to live. This doesn't make him a bad person (I agree with @Frey).

I don't consider Axl a "bad person" in general. He's done things that I don't like, but he has showed some good traits. And the hate he has received as a public figure is disproportionate to what he actually is and highly based on misconceptions of facts.

I also don't think that he was ever really racist. When One In A Million came out I was very angry with Axl's ignorance and because it attracted every racist nazi scum, something that the band didn't deserve. And what Axl was saying in interviews I watched didn't make it any better. His views were a result of prejudice, ignorance, naivete and lack of experiences (all due to the social environment he was brought up in), which are conditions for a person to become a racist, but after having read other interviews, I believe that he honestly wanted to understand what was wrong with the song (after the shit hit the fan, of course, but regardless) and he wasn't listening to and promoting hip hop groups like Public Enemy and NWA to save face; he was really interested to know what was going on with the racial issues. As for homophobia, I think he had (and probably still has) some of that, although it contradicts (another of his contradictions) the conscious choice of a less macho-manly (and almost androgynous) look, the Elton John affinity, etc. (I'm not going into the question of his sexuality, because there isn't solid proof that his is other than heterosexual). And yes, Izzy was pissed off with OIAM and the one who tried the most to talk some sense to Axl about the "n*ers" and "immigrants" thing, but I suspect he didn't have such a big problem with the homophobic line, judging from his reaction on the Accept lyrics story.

A side note on It's So Easy: To be fair, these are Duff's lyrics. Not that Axl wasn't (isn't?) thinking like that, of course. But the line "turn around bitch..." isn't the center of the song. It's a nihilistic, dark song about boredom and lack of meaning; that is, partying, drinking, having "bitches" to use etc. is easy to have, even without money, but there isn't any real pleasure in it, it's meaningless.

I wanted to comment also on things discussed some days ago, but it's difficult to keep up with the thread . I had said I have some thoughts on one of the reasons why Axl was so angry with Slash and I realized that he way I wrote it makes it seem more intriguing than it is ; it's not much and it's not something really new. I meant to say that I'll post it when I have the time to write more than two paragraphs in English (it takes me twice the time to write something in English than in my language )
