That video has been around for a long time and no one could ever decipher which was the language , hence most of us were lost in the dark with the whole toilet thing. What I find weird is that with all the "privacy" and "secrecy" issues Axl has, there's a video like this on the Internet, showing parts of his house that are supposed to be the most private (yeah, at this point no images of his bedroom is lulz) and a woman telling a story like this one. I think it contradicts a lot of messages sent by himself and his management. Also, it is weird that he invites so many random people to his house without checking who they are.... I could never do that, I don't know.... the way he establishes relationships is odd to me. Yeah the toilet thing, I dont know. Seems like they just decided to use his toilet (or have a look at it) before leaving. They point out his high tech toilet and the playboys, but nothing else. I agree it's weird. But it seems to be the same kind of thing as with the models- someone from Axl's entourage picks nice looking girls out, they get invited backstage/to the tour bus (or his home in this case), then Axl proceeds to tell them all kinds of stories for a while and then they get sent home. I guess Axl just really likes having people (preferably beautiful female people) around to tell stories to. That's what we keep hearing from all these models and other people who got to hang out with him: He tells stories, they listen.

It's always the same kind of people that gets invited to "his world". I don't know how the boyfriend of that girl made it to the party too (this year models were told to leave their bf's at home, remember?) The ephemeral side of these encounters does not appeal to me. He opens himself up to real strangers who he knows nothing about and I don't know if he cares about them at all. I mean, does he use them just for listeners or does he show some interest in exchanging experiences and stories with these people? Just talking about yourself is not cool, IMO. Do you think he's drunk in the video? It looked to me like he was a little "happy" and that is too another constant in this kind of stories: drunk Axl tells lots of stories and opens up to fans, saying stuff he shouldn't say. Then he has Del or someone from the freak show watching around so that he doesn't let too much out.

Then he has Del or someone from the freak show watching around so that he doesn't let too much out. My best guess is 2012 because I googled and that's when there was a thread here on mygnr about this video. The link to the original source of the video doesn't work anymore, but the guy who re-uploaded the current one on Youtube also uploaded in 2012. They don't really say anything about the guitars. They just talk about how excited they were to see Axl's house and that they didn't know what to expect. The girl also says that she could barely believe it at first (that she would be at Axl Roses's home at 3 in the morning), but then she saw all the guitars and original GNR stuff and knew it was for real. That's it. I'm curious about the guitars as well though. Does anyone recognize any of them as Slash's or Izzy's? It wouldn't surprise me at all if Axl had kept some of their old guitars all these years. The black one in particular seems familiar to me for some reason. Or maybe they're just guitars he bought for himself over the years? The boyfriend probably got to come along because he comes across like a slightly creepy possessive douche and wouldn't have let her go alone. He spends quite a bit of time blabbering about how he didn't know what Axl's and the other people's intentions were and that it was his job to make sure things didn't get out of hand. Says he isn't a jealous guy, but it's important to show other men their limits and tell them to leave their hands off his girlfriend. Sounds like he's way over-estimating his own importance. Honestly, I think Axl mostly uses them as listeners. They are allowed to ask questions about his stories so he gets to go into more detail on them, but I've never heard about Axl asking any of these people about their own lives. It fits with him being so self-centered imo, just another facet of that whole issue. (And from the way Slash tells it, it even was that way when Axl talked to him all night long: Axl would talk, Slash would listen.) And yes, I do think he's at least slightly drunk there. His face is all flushed and they were at a club earlier and drinking gets mentioned a few times during the video, so he probably was. ------------- On a more positive note, I do like how much Axl loves dogs. As someone who is constantly worried about my dog getting shot by hunters (because for some terrible hateful reason hunters here are allowed to shoot dogs if they see one running around ), I totally get his feelings about police needlessly killing dogs. Also have to say he looks pretty good in the picture with the waitress. Looks much the same as in the picture with Fergie.

Popular Post Frey
@killuridols Here's something that's interesting for the "lost years" and also the "Axl talking to people" discussion. HisRoyalSweetness' account of meeting Axl. The description of him meeting Axl that he posted here on this forum has been posted in this thread before, but I recently came across him talking about that experience on gnfnr and he went into more detail there: Quote axl was playing at the beverly hills walk of style awards with a minimized nulineup. i always wanted to meet the dude, just because i was a fan since i was a kid. i know it's lame to want to meet a famous person, but with axl's it's half tongue in cheek, half sincere. i waited outside for a little while with the paparzzi. i asked if anyone got pics of axl and they had a good laugh at the idea that they'd care about snapping axl's pic with all the real celebrities there. i zipped up my jacket and walked around back so i could enter with the waiters and waitresses and janitor staff. baz was the first person i met in the ballroom. he liked my ironic rush shirt unironcally and took a picture with me and the 'eat my silkworms' sign i tucked in my pocket in case i was lucky enough to use it. baz warned me not to try to say hi to axl because nobody can ever be certain what will set him off, and baz didn't want to have to deal with angry axl on an otherwise fun night. so i chilled out and had a couple of beers. but eventually, i was like fuck it... i always wanted to meet axl rose and i probably won't get a better chance. so i walked over and said hi, that i was a big fan. and honestly, he couldn't have been more gracious or excited to shake my hand. he introduced me to the chick he was with. i didn't bring up the old band at all. i told him how cool it was to see him playing shows again. then he just kinda unloaded... he told me the last few years of his life had been a living hell... he was crippled with depression and didn't want to leave the house. said he just couldn't really do anything. he said everybody turned on him... band members, business people, but most of all, his fans. there was little distinction in his mind between the two camps... supposed haters and super fans were sources of equal resentment. he resented his dedicated hardcores because they wouldn't stop harping on him to release music while being unaware of the legal realities and his mental state. he felt like they wouldn't stop hounding him, twisting everything he said and trying to read into everything. i explained how as a fan, it kinda felt like axl was turning on us too. i said how, for better or worse, there was a generation of young rock fans for whom axl was the ultimate rock star. and for redneck southern and midwestern kids who weren't bright or articulate, a guy like axl doesn't just speak to them -- he speaks for them. so even if it's corny, there's a deep connection between people and their favorite rock stars. and how when axl withdrew and adopted a more antagonistic relationship with his fanbase, they felt kinda angry and resentful too. that sounds way harsh when paraphrased, but it was a pretty honest and real conversation. he didn't get mad or anything. he said he'd never really considered it that way before. he also talked about how he had submitted cd to the label, but he was afraid they'd reject it which would drag the project on even further. he was adamant that he'd finally made the album he wanted to make, and that he wanted it released as-is. as far as i could tell, del james was the only member of team brasil there. he interrupted our conversation regularly to try and implore axl to stop talking to me. eventually axl snapped at him and told him to go away because he just wanted to have a conversation. i found that particularly hilarious. before i left, i asked if he'd snap a picture with me. he said yeah, so i figured i'd go for it and ask if he'd hold the 'eat my silkworms' sign. he had a big laugh at that, and was fully aware of our old site and all its running jokes. he even told his date, 'hey this guy is from the pitman fan site!' this was back in 2006 i think. it was still a couple of years before cd came out, but at the time axl was convinced it's release was imminent. he was thinner and looked better and happier than he had in years. when he talked about his depression, it was in the past tense because he was referring to the whole CD/nugnr process, and at the time, he believed that whole episode was drawing to a close. the way the release ultimately unfolded -- with his liner notes being ditched, the mixes, best buy and the azoff lawsuit -- probably plunged him back into that world, which is why axl looks so fat and defeated these days and clearly doesnt' give a fuck about his voice. i'm sure the forum's resident child rapist and his merry cadre of imitators can find a perfectly good excuse for how i forged those pictures. and how axl couldn't possibly be a depressed person who lives in a small, isolated world defined by his resentment of others. but listen to the lyrics of chinese democracy, and tell me i'm wrong. What's interesting to me about this is that Axl finds the hardcore fans equally as bothersome and exhausting as the haters. I can absolutely see that. All these people asking for new music and updates all the time when he apparently just felt depressed as fuck and wanted to hide away in his mansion and be left alone. Also this. "he was crippled with depression and didn't want to leave the house. said he just couldn't really do anything." I think that's the most likely explanation for what was going on in the mystery years. It's sad, but it makes sense and Axl himself has indicated similar things. Also at Del James for regularly interrupting and trying to get Axl to stop talking. Here are the posts HRS made on mygnr about meeting Axl: Quote i got to hang out and talk to him at a party once. he seemed pretty bitter and angry to me. he talked about being so depressed he didn't feel like he could leave the house for years. complained about being alone. complained about fans forsaking and turning on him. complained about the label expectations and his fear that they'd want to make changes in chinese democracy. never mentioned the old band. at the time, he was more hung up on CD. he cracked jokes, though. and was totally aware of the eat my silkworms site, and had a good laugh about it.. del james was with him, and kinda kept him buffered from others. he tried to interrupt axl when he was talking to me several times, until finally axl snapped at him and told him to give him some space and that they'd leave whenever he was ready. all in all, we talked for 20 minutes or so. my impression overall was that he was sad, angry and lonely. when he complained about fans turning on him, i tried to explain the fan's side... about how deeply artists can speak to fans, and how beyond making music, they're speaking for people who don't know how to or can't for themselves. it may seem silly, but it's a special relationship. so when they feel axl sorta gave up on them, they gave up on him too. but that their 'hate' or 'indifference' was just the flip side of their love and adulation. that one couldn't exist without the other. that haters only exist because they love the guy and deep down inside want to have him back and kicking ass again. he seemed to think about that a little, and told me it was a perspective he hadn't considered before, which seemed weird to me. but then, it's probably not something beta, fernando or del would tell him. after that exchange was when he got a little more laid back and happy. he introduced me to his date and took a picture with an 'eat my silkworms' page. this was still a year or two before chinese democracy came out, which no doubt was an especially shitty time in his life. hopefully vegas has got him in a much happier place. he was very, very ready to get CD out, and claimed he was extremely proud of it. he was having a good time dancing at the party. it was cool, but overall, i don't think i want to meet my favorite celebrities anymore. Quote yeah, he was drunk. but no more than anyone else. certainly no more than quincy jones. i think del was trying to keep axl safe, just because his attitude can be so unpredictable, and little things can set him off. i could see how a fan with good intentions could unintentionally create a shitstorm for del and team brazil to have to manage later. baz was there, and i talked to him for a few minutes, mainly about how i wanted to say hi to axl. he warned against it, and for a while i didn't... but after a while i thought, fuck it, i may never get the chance to say hi to that guy again, and for better or worse, i want to know what he's like. i remember he did strike me as very boyish. almost childlike. and i don't mean that in an insulting way. just kinda sweet. he was having a good time at the party, and had a good laugh about eat my silkworms, which he knew about and thought was funny. but he also talked a lot about being depressed and stuff, which i mentioned earlier. he made a couple of racist cracks about latino help at the party, which i figured was probably par for the course. it wasn't anything especially malicious. just what you'd expect from a small town white boy who grew up in the midwest in the 80's. i would have been disappointed to hear a friend say it, but actually found it kinda amusing considering it was coming from axl rose. http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?/topic/196742-has-anyone-here-ever-met-axl/&page=1 Edited October 10, 2016 by Frey

Yeah, I agree with @Lumikki, Axl doesn't really seem to talk with these people, he seems to talk to or at them. He wants an audience for his stories and that's it. It's kind of sad in a way. Makes him seem rather lonely. Constantly getting strangers to sit and listen to him instead of talking to friends or family. I guess TB and the rest of the entourage have all heard his stories a million times by now and the people who used to listen to his "twain wrecks" (was it Duff who called Axl's stories that? ) back in the day weren't around anymore or aren't as close with him anymore as they used to be.
