When they released the second date for Buenos Aires, the benefits of belonging to Nightrain vanished away, as the fan club pre-sale was not available for it anymore. So go figure Thanks for reply. If they play London and Manchester here I want to go to both, no way am I going in the seats or at the back though. I get a lot of my tickets through O2 priority, but these ones mean more to me than any others I've ever bought, so don't want to risk not getting in the front pit. Nightrain sounds like a waste of money though.

Although, take everything with a grain of salt, as they are mostly based on opinion of people who worked with them and there's not much from Axl's side, unfortunately. I agree with you about the A&E biography. It would have been good to get more of everyone's side of things.

In my case, I have no idea why they didn't allow fan club presale for the third date. The production company here was shit so I tend to think it may be more of their fault than GNR but that I will never know. Hopefully for you they announce all dates you want to go to together so when you have to make your purchase you already know what to do. I agree with you, you have to make it front row or nothing. I regret my second show I didn't buy pit tickets. That's because I never planned on going both days and had to make a last minute decision and money was an issue but I hope they return to Argentina next year and I can go back for more ass to eat

Money might be a bit of an issue for me too, especially with the expense of London. I just have a feeling that the London show will be the most epic out of the two, so have to stay there a couple of days (Assuming they do play Manc, not just LDN) I think they will announce the two at the same time, just they might add another London date and I suppose that would be where a problem might occur. If they did that I'd might be tempted to go in the cheaper areas. Surely they will go back to Argentina, that would be amazing if they finish this tour off there, I think you guys deserve it. Popular Post Blackstar
Speaking of Axl's infamous "Mr. Brownstone" speech, that first opening for The Rolling Stones concert must have been one of their most chaotic: Axl is late and Niven has him brought in the venue in a police car - Right after they take the stage, Axl rants defending himself about OIAM - It's So Easy - Axl says "unless certain people in this band get their shit together this will be the last GnR show you'll ever see because I'm tired of too many people in this organization dancing with Mr goddam Brownstone" - Mr. Brownstone - Out Ta Get Me. Axl steps into the void and falls off the stage (amazing how he didn't break anything and continued singing while he was down). After the Paradise City encore (not in the video) Axl said "I'm retiring. Have a nice life" and threw the mic. During the Rolling Stones show that followed, Mick Jagger said "I don't know what's the matter with Axl tonight, but we dedicate this next number to him. We all have these things but we don't talk about them onstage!" After which the Stones launched into 'Mixed Emotions'! http://www.w-axl-rose.com/Reviews/Reviews_1989.html The next day, before the second opening for the RS show, Axl threatens not to go on stage unless Slash "apologizes" for being a junkie. Slash makes an anti-drug speech, Axl pleased with it joins them on stage, they play Mr. Brownstone and at the end of the song Axl apologizes for what he said the other day and says "I just don't want to see my friends slip away". Axl also played bass on the break of Rocket Queen at that show --------- About the relationship between Axl and Slash (and the relationships in the band in general), it's no wonder why all of them (Axl too) long the early days while they resent the UYI era (both recordings and tour) as it having been the beginning of the end, although at the time they felt proud (at least Axl and Slash) for what they had achieved despite the obstacles. I think though that even during the UYI tour there were periods of time when Axl and Slash were close, not the way they were in the early and AFD days, but they were at the same page somehow. That was especially during the first months after Izzy left (late 91-early 92), I guess because they both had as their priority to keep the band from falling apart; during that period Slash was very supportive of Axl in public (even for being late), for example in this interview from early 92: http://www.w-axl-rose.com/Reviews/Reviews_1992.html Why GNR concerts start so late / The concerts are advertised as starting at 9 p.m., with opening act Soundgarden. At some recent performances, GNR did not hit the stage until after midnight and the group has been know to play as late as 3:45 a.m. "We're a club band basically and we're used to going on at, like, midnight," said Slash. "We have a couple of entertainment factors between sets (after the opening band) where we have video screens and we videotape the crowd and we have close-ups of girls and they get off on that. We also have killer intermission music to listen to. All things considered, I think it would be better if we do a really good show as opposed to rushing into it when we're not mentally and physically prepared." ... "Axl's amazingly misunderstood. I've known him for a long time and we've gone through a dozen different plateaus in the relationship. It took me a long time to understand him. We're so different as far as personalities go. He's highly complex; I'm very black-and-white. So we have a lot of run-ins. But we're really close." Slash doesn't always agree with what Axl writes, says or does, but he will back him up, he said. ... Axl's background / "I'm almost from the entertainment business," Slash said. "I lived in Hollywood all my life - nothing shocks me - whereas Axl's coming from the Midwest, coming from a constricted background. To move from that into Los Angeles, where everything's going on at once, he's coming from a completely different viewpoint." "I came from a cool family. Axl came from a very repressed upbringing. That's why he's so fiery. When he sees something that he doesn't like, his knuckles are all over it." I think their relationship went really downhill from mid 92. Slash is quoted in Mick Wall's book (I'm not sure if the quote is from Slash's book or elsewhere) saying "I completely lost Axl during the tour with Metallica. I had no idea where he was at". In my opinion and this is from a crazy fuck like me once you taste that ass you can't settle for less You rather make one great show from the pit than many of them from shitty seats or regular GA floor. So if you're gonna spend money, do it wisely. This is what happened to me, really. After having that ass in my face the first show, not being able to be there the next day consumed me in anger, although I did have fun with the music and stuff, but it wasn't the same. I too thought so I was going to be fulfilled from show one and second show would be just a plus, but nope, I almost broke the fence like those guys did the first night

This is exactly what makes the difference between a pit ticket and seats or far behind. Dont know if I said this when I posted about my show but you all saw my videos too. The fact that the three of them make it so cool when they walk the sides of the stage is what gives value to your money and there it is when you understand why being in front is more expensive. I was totally satisfied with what I paid for this because I got more than I expected. Got to see Axl, Slash and Duff pretty close and many times during the shows. Duff stood near us for long minutes, throwing his picks and interacting with us, either with his faces or gestures. So did Axl and Slash to a less extent but all in all, if you are a crazy fan like me or have waited to see them for a lifetime, there's no other way to experience this than from the pit.
