Best get to Guns N’ Roses‘ July dates at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts early – because Axl Rose and company won’t be playing late. Foxborough’s town council has turned down a request to perform after a 11:15PM citywide curfew.
Gillette Stadium management had asked to play until 11:40PM on July 19-20, nearly a half hour after the deadline. “This is on a Tuesday and a Wednesday,” Selectwoman Ginny Coppola told The Sun Chronicle. “If this was a weekend, I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but it’s a work night. This isn’t going to be an acoustic evening. It’s going to be loud.”
Jess Enos, a Gillette Stadium official, noted that there hadn’t been any public safety issues during previous stops on this long-awaited reunion tour, and that an older crowd was expected. A member of the stadium’s advisory committee also said the concert volume could be turned down, should noise complaints arise – something Gillette staff have apparently done in the past.
The council was unmoved, voting unanimously to license the shows with a strict 11:15PM cutoff. Enos later acknowledged that they would work around the curfew, even as local residents spoke out.
Pop star Taylor Swift was granted an extension to 11:40PM at the same venue last year, but those concerts were held on the weekend. Lenny Kravitz will serve as opening act for both Guns N’ Roses shows.

This had been discussed already I think, also explained the one hour earlier start time in Foxboro than most shows.   Dodger Stadium has a similar, even earlier curfew.

I never saw this posted anywhere.. What do they do?  The shows are at least 2 1/2 hours. Do you think they aware and plan on going on at least by 8:45? That would blow if the show got cut short do to a curfew..

Foxboro is scheduled to start at 7:00 as opposed to 8:00, so that covers you.  Dodger Stadium shows are starting at 6:30.  GnR should hit the stage in Foxboro at 8:25.

Cool, thanks for the info.. Hopefully Kravitz goes on right at 7 and Guns can get on at 8:45 to give us the 2 1/2 hours.. Either that or start cutting out some CD songs ;) No really!

I don't really care how early Kravitz goes on and to me 8:45 isn't too early for Guns.. It will be dark right about then. Hopefully they can make that happen. Or just go  a few minutes over. At $308 bucks a ticket I think they can afford a fine in a case like this.

I don't think they are going to cut anything.  They have been right on schedule in Detoit and DC.  Tonight, AIC went on right on time.  So, I'd expect Lenny on stage no later than 7:01.  They seem to be making good on their promise to stay on schedule.  I believe GnR were actually two minutes early in Detroit.
