Ace Nova
Figured let's have some fun with our G N' R knowledge. What songs have G N' R not played live since the 1990's? This can also include covers that they used to do.

Speaking of SIDHY - I remember listening to a boot of Boston '93 (I think it was that show) and they (GnR) played their own recording of it as the intro to the show. Always thought that was very odd, considering Gilby said he recorded his parts in Boston.

Just remembered I saw it live in 93 with Duff on vocals. Upon googling some more, I also found that Nu Guns played it live in 2014... with Duff on vocals as well. Duff was filling in for Tommy Stinson in Buenos Aires as Tommy apparently was busy playing with The Replacements at Coachella.

In addition to the Prague version that others have shown you, there is one done with Shannon Hoon at the Great Western Forum, Inglewood, CA. It is not a video, but it is still great. Popular Post KeyserSoze
THIS may change soon: Last know performance of Back Off Bitch: First and one of only 2 known performances of Bad Apples, the last known time was May 11, 1991 at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood CA: In this video, around the 17 minute mark you will find the last know performance of Bad Obsession at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland New Zealand, February 6th, 1993: Here, around the 1:49:20 mark, you will find the last known performance of Breakdown at Madison Square Garden December 13th, 1991. One of only 2 times played: the other time being here at the Centrum in Worcester Mass. December 6th 1991: I couldn't find proof of this but speaking of breakdowns, GNR supposedly did a cover of Led Zeps "Communication Breakdown" February 25th 1993 in Birmingham Alabama, and have not played it since. They have played it 2 other times in 1988 though. Also at this show, the last known performance of Garden Of Eden happened. While there is no proof of this, the song is quite rare, having only been played 3 times. Here is the second to last time it was played at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin TX, February 23rd, 1993. Here is the last known performance of Dead Horse July 17th, 1993 at the Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aries, Argentina Here is the last known version of Todd Rundgrens Dust In The Wind on July 17th, 1993 at the Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aries, Argentina. GNR have played it 8 known times all in 1993: Around the 23:23 minute mark in this video, you can catch the last known live version of Dust N' Bones (Without Izzy!!!). This took place January 7th, 1992 at THe Pyramid in Memphis TN. Axl mentions that "This is a song we are going to try for the first time because we like the song, without the *inaudiable* who sang the fucking song" On May 30th, 1993 at the Milton Keynes National Bowl, GNR with Micheal Monroe and Ronnie Wood performed a cover of the Stones Honkey Tonk Woman. Axl introduces the song by saying "we are going to try and sing a song that even Ronnie doesn't know." To which Ronnie replys "none of us know it!!" getting a big, almost sarcastic laugh from Axl. GNR have played the song a total of 3 known times, but have not played it since. Sometimes before November Rain during the UYI tour, Axl would do a solo spot where he would play a cover of Black Sabbaths "It's Alright." This became somewhat of a staple as it has been performed at least 15 times, and appears on GNRs Live Era album. The Last known performance of this solo spot was November 29th, 1992 at the Estadio El Champin in Bogata, Colombia. Locomotive, another rare tune by GNR, has only ever been played 8 known times. The last of these being February 20th, 1992 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo Japan. This would be the only time it would be performed in 1992. It was scheduled to be played in Paris, France later that year with Jeff Beck, but was canceled as Beck became sick: In a rare off the cuff one-of cover, GNR cover DEVO's Mongoloid in Hartford CT, March 9th, 1993. You can view that here around the 1:24:40 mark: Move to the City was last played at Williams Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina September 7th, 1992. There is no known video of the show, just some audio that i cant link. But enjoy their third to last performance of the song in Chicago in 1992: Perfect Crime was last performed in Bogata, Columbia November 27th, 1992. I cannot find video of this specific performance, so enjoy their fourth to last performance of the song in Giants Stadium, East Rutherford NJ, July 18th, 1992. Perfect Crime starts the video. The Last known performance of Pretty Tied Up is at the Myriad Convention Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, April 6th, 1992: Reckless Life was last performed April 15th, 1993 at the Roanoke Civic Center, Roanoke Virginia. I cannot find video of this, but enjoy their 3rd to last known performance of the song March 17th 1993 in Boston Mass. Right Next Door To Hell is last played in Inglewood, California on August 3rd, 1991. Listen to it here at the 7:50 mark. Axl introduces it as a song about a time in his life and living in LA, but that doesnt mean that hell cant be anywhere you fucking are. So Fine was last played June 16th, 1993 in Basel. There seems to be audio of that show, but it isn;t readily available to me. Instead, enjoy their 6th to last know performance of the song at the Winnipeg Arena in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada March 24th, 1993. So Fine starts at around 35:45: on May 22, 1992, Guns cover "Tavaszi szél vizet áraszt" in Budapest, Hungary. Axl dedicates the song to Freddie Mercury, and says he would be here to sing it tonight, but he had other plans. This is the first and only time GNR have ever covered this song. The Garden is last performed April 24th, 1993 in Mexico City. Enjoy it here at 16:56: In a one-of cover, GNR with Brian May cover Queen "Tie Your Mother Down" June 13th, 1992. Axl mentions that he never felt comfortable with the sound of his voice singing this song, but that the band rehersed it and they would really like him to play it. 7 days later, Slash would go on to play this song with the remaining members of Queen at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. That night, GNR also play We Will Rock You with Brian May. 7 Days later Axl sings the song with the Remaining members of Queen: In another one-of Cover, GNR play Train Kept A-Rollin with Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith in Paris, France June 6th, 1992: Wild Horses was a solo spot by Gilby Clarke and Slash usually before patience. An interesting note on how this came to be: Axl and Slash told Gilby that Izzy used to go out and noodle on his guitar before Patience and that he should give it a try. He went out and starting playing a Stone-esque tune, and Slash came in and started playing Wild Horses over it... and from there it was born! Check out one of the last times it was played here in Seattle, October 6th, 1992 at around 47:36: You Aint The first was last played in Argentina also: Can't forget Matts Solos (his last being in Argentina 1993)!!!: TECHNICALLY this is GNR... but does it count?
