Promoter sets sights on getting GNR to New Zealand

Recommended Posts

not sure if this should go in the rumored concert date thread, but check it.

Promoter Paul Dainty has brought some of the worlds greatest acts to New Zealand. The Stones in the 70s, Katy Perry last year, and Prince earlier this year.

His latest challenge though? Wooing rock gods Guns N' Roses to Aucklands Western Springs Park in 2017.

not much more is mentioned, but you can read and watch some of the mans story here:

Pretty sure its a given they'll at least do Auckland. Most decent sized bands tour Aus, and do a token NZ effort on the back of that, whilst 'nuguns' played Auckland a few times.

It'll happen in Jan/Feb when they're supposed to be in Aus. That article will be sort of like pre-promotion, happens a lot when bands come down here to NZ - if a rumour is credible they often actually get reported on to help stir some excitement around before the official announcement. Either way, as soon a reunion tour was announced it was obvious they'd do Aus and NZ.

A similar article appeared on Nzherald.co.nz which is the website for NZ's largest newspaper, so I'll bet on an announcement within the next few weeks.

And just to be nitpicky - NuGuns toured NZ once in 2007, 2 shows in Auckland and one in Christchurch

GnR is going to be fucking awesome at Western Springs, here's a pic of Bowie's crowd during the 80s :) great venue
