The films not so much about being on heroin as getting off it and then figuring out what you wanna do with your life. Or what you're gonna do with your life. There are some really grim films about heroin abuse, Trainspotting has its moments but it really ain't that bad in that sense, quite funny really.

I don't go to the cinema any longer since they knocked down the old movie theatres and replaced them with horrendous multiplexes.

I did go and see Star Wars: The Force Awakens and, well, let's just say I'm glad I'd had a good drink beforehand. I went to see Wolf of Wall Street before that, so I suppose I go about once per two-three years. Admittedly it is quite easy to avoid the cinema these days considering 99.9% of films are garbage. Same with me, like 2-3 a year... Funny as fuck "I've wrote letters y'know, letters to every cunt, even wrote to the Queen!' 'You wrote to the Queen?' 'Aye. Never got back to us, like' Edited January 29, 2017 by Len Cnut

It did say it is different from the original, more elegiac and sombre, less biting.
Bansidhe
Have heard very good things about it. Gonna read Porno again and see the film in a few days.

These are the levels that Scottish aggression has reached, this man has to have about 3 days of non stop wanking to take the edge off sufficiently so he can just do a normal thing like pay for a ticket at the cinema and go see a film

Go on. I'm too lazy to go to the cinema. It basically has to be a Scorsese film to get me out of the house, and I'm not that keen on his last few to be honest so the chances are diminishing. Anyhow I have to be in the mood for ''British grit''; I liked the original but I have to be in the mood for that sort of thing.

Going to the cinema involves going to this hideous monstrosity in Newcastle called The Gate, Cinema on top, eateries on the second floor, boozers on the ground floor - including a 'Spoons. It is a good place to pick up slags on a Friday and Saturday night (so I've been told!).

It is a good place to pick up slags on a Friday and Saturday night (so I've been told!). 'so i've been told', you dirty little fucker I been you're a right little dog catcher on the sly, you seem to have the SP on all the Tyneside slag haunts They're building one of those gaffs right in the town centre where I'm at actually, it's a massive inconvenience cuz they've shut down half the town centre to build like a complex of some sort, an IMAX (what is IMAX anyway?) cinema, and like...one of them basically, a multi-level thingiemajig. Only problem is they've had to basically shut down the old market to make way for it, which is a shame. Similar to what you're talking about really, you walk around town and like...it ain't the town i grew up in. Don't get me wrong, I'm not fuckin' anti-change or anything but it'd be nice to have some character around the place, in terms of the architecture, instead plonking up one of them things that's like...y'know, one of thousands across the country. Oh well, seasons change I suppose. Our situations the same, all the local Odeons and ABCs closed and they made this big fuckin' gaff just outside of town with a bowling alley and restaurants and an arcade, a leisure centre or whatever. Then again it's not like the old ABCs were some sort of structural delight, they were just fuckin' old picture houses more or less. There's a mosque and a barbershop in it's place now. Shame, used to be 1.70 a ticket there. Edited February 2, 2017 by Len Cnut
DieselDaisy
This is what that monstrosity replaced, I think that is all smashed up now. I think there is a Maplins or some other store there now. It can make you weep, this stuff.
