The album was indeed released under the Guns N' Roses BRAND by its owner, Axl Rose, though.

Those two are undeniable facts. Then, whether you care about music or you care about brandings, marketing and irrelevant legal shit it's up to you.

The other fact is Guns N' Roses have three members now and two of them didn't play on the album (as well as one of the employees. Two of the other three employees barely played in some little pieces of it). But yeah, Axl and Dizzy played on the whole record. If you think Axl and Dizzy are Guns N' Roses, more power to you.

What do you consider Guns N' Roses?

That band wasn't a hard rock band, they didn't look or sound or "feel" like GNR AT ALL. That doesn't mean they were bad, I've always liked Chinese Democracy for what it is but it is clearly something else. That's the point, the band that made Appetite and the band that made CD are completely different bands. In my opinion it's ridiculous to have two different bands with the same name but well, Axl didn't see it that way.

Well, there are semantics and then there's just plain old common sense. 

I don't know if I would so far as to call CD songs "covers", but the decent thing for Axl to do would've been to let sleeping dogs lie when it came to the CD material on this tour. Maybe just keep an obligatory two songs in the set just as a token sign that he stands by that album etc, but Axl should've had the decency to insist on performing mostly original band material for this tour, if only out of respect for Slash. 

If Slash is gracious enough to agree to perform on even just one CD song, then the classy thing for Axl to do would've been to centre the shows mainly around Slash-era GNR material.

Prior to the reunion, I used to consider myself much more of an Axl fan than a Slash fan. But something about the NITL tour has really left me with a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to Axl. I think it's the way he made the shows so much about CD songs, it just came off badly, seeing as 85% of the audience didn't come to see those songs. And it also comes off as disrespectful to Slash, almost like he's attempting to diminish Slash's role in GNR, as that of someone who just plays guitar solos on songs written by other people, as opposed to recognising him as an integral part of what originally made Guns N Roses so great.

I do not know why Rose couldn't agree to the performance of an Anastasia or Slither to readdress the lack of equilibrium a bit here, as it does feel like Slash and Duff have been, ehh, compromised sexually haha. When Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young play, they craft a setlist which includes solo material from all their respective careers as befitting their equal status.
