Where did you see this? What a fail

I donated so I could get the song, got an email today saying crowdfunding had ceased due to cancellation of the event. The funding did look below target when I checked I a few weeks ago.

why don't Elton and GNR play together again like in 1992. It'd cool to see Axl and Elton duet on stage again. I loved the appearance at the MTV video music awards.

It would also put GNR even further back into the mainstream, which wouldnt be a bad thing on any level IMO.

now why on earth wont guns n roses coins n notes play rocket man on this "not on this lifetime" "i cant never get enough" tour?

everyone knows that axl loves elton john

and now you have slash recording the song!

what else do you need?

id much rather listen to whatever version of rocket man these guys could play

than the 2016th version of the guns n roses songs they are playing covering butchering (courtesy of richard and frank) on this tour

I get that people want the AFD5 back but your hate for the current lineup is just comically exaggerated.

To stay on topic: I really hope we get to hear the SMKC version fairly soon! I wonder what it sounds like like.

what is AFD5?

is that a new name for GNR?

Was it AFD5 that released Appetite, Lies and Use Your Illusion?

Or was it GNR?

why on earth would anyone call GNR by an alternate name?

C'mon dude, they've got a thousand names and you know it. Original Guns, Classic Guns, UYI aera Guns... how would you differentiate AFD5 and UYI aera Guns?

1985-1991 - GNR

the rest of it?

i dont think its GNR

oh, and I am still hoping for my favorite band to get back together

even though at this point it doesnt seem likely that it will ever happen

how to differentiate?

I differentiate the post-GNR era like this

1992 - circus era (a.k.a. tracy and roberta era)

1993 - skin n bones era (it was actualy GNR for 5 gigs!)

1994-1996 - ???

1997-2015 - axl solo era

2016 (1st half) - threeunion

2016 (2nd half, after the lootgate was exposed ) - coins n notes

the funniest thing about the present/threeunion/coins n notes era is that the 4 hired hands make the threeunion sound so fucking horrible that they are, somehow, making the 1992-93 lineup to become somehow respectable (by comparison)

of course that the 1992-93 lineup still sound bad when compared to GNR!

Well, I'm kind of sorry for you man, I really am if that's really the way you feel.

I mean... these are Axl Slash and Duff, playing on a stage together since the 90's.

And no offense, but most of what we've heard and seen of them so far were periscope and youtube videos. There's barely a pro shot recording out there.

And still they sound tight in most opinions, including mine.

But the most important part is... I can't remember of anyone who attended a concert in 2016 who said something different than they were great.

I mean it's your opinion but it surprises me.
