Its cool and stuff but dammit, it should be a new song to be featured on a movie traielr.

New songs get used in movies, not in trailers.  Most trailers re-use music from other movies or use old hit songs, except, of course, when there is very recognizable music for a sequel (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, etc.).

Not a rule per se, but the people that make trailers are completely different from the ones that work on the movie.  The soundtrack is not close to finished when they start making the trailers.  Many times they don't even know what songs will be in the movie at that point.  If a new song does go in a movie, the people making the trailers don't know what scenes it will go with.  They basically get handed a bunch of scenes from the production team and edit them together to make a compelling trailer.  They add music that adds to the theme of the trailer.  Notice YCBM doesn't appear in the trailers for Terminator 2.

Of course, there are some exceptions.  Guardians of the Galaxy had a small amount of music that was in the movie in the trailer.  It was previously released music and the music was known early on to be a central part of the movie.  Even the trailer for Frozen didn't include a single note of "Let it Go."
