Bradman is turning in his grave.

Have you seen the Adelaide Oval these days? Butchered from what it used to be. Some would say a much-needed upgrade.

I'm hoping to do the Melbourne show and I'll definitely be at the Adelaide show.

By gawd! I'm looking at pictures now and it looks like a modern stadium! It was always known for being one of the world's most picturesque cricket grounds - Victoriana personified.

Incidentally, I heard the WACA's days are numbered?

Not sure what's happening with the WACA but there is a new 60k multi purpose stadium being built, you can see the WACA off to the left in the image

Is that Burswood?

I read that the WACA is in disrepair and is soon going to be replaced as the premier Test/ODI/Big Bash match venue by Burswood. Apparently it will be still used for smaller Test opponents, but it seems like it is really on its last legs.

Very sad.

That stadium in Brisbane is up the road from my parent's house. U2 and AC/DC concerts could easily be heard from there whilst growing up!

Next, what about New Zealand?!

According to this Japan dates are before Aus, and NZ seems to just be waiting to confirm venue

Yes the new stadium is basically next to the Burswood casino which is just out of shot, the new stadium will  have the premier cricket games, aussie rules and the sides can come in to reconfigure to a rectangular pitch for International football and Rugby matches.

Yeah the WACA was just never looked after i think only a matter of time before it's knocked down for apartments.

@cremefraiche that hashtag confirms it, they must just be confirming venue or whatever like you said.

You know where the fuck you are?! You're in New Zealand baby, you gonna diiiiiie!

I wonder if there's gonna be a unique NZ lithograph? I'll probably get one if there is and also a tshirt. If there's just one show here I might spring for front row or close to it, if there's multiple shows I think I'll get lesser seats so I can go to both.

Yep, I also asked the TEG Dainty facebook page if i should start looking at flights to Oz, and they said "Any new announcements will be on our website and social media ;) "

I imagine the litho and/or t-shirt will probably have some sort of maori design maybe? I'll probably spring for both also. Front row for Auckland is my priority, hopefully will be able to snag a cheap seated ticket to any additional NZ shows

@cremefraiche Who do you reckon will open if there is an opener? I'd really like The Naked & Famous, Home Brew or maybe SIX60

I would have got silverchair out of retirement if it was me... ;) (showing my age now)

rose tattoo - possibly?

Wolfmother?

I think you're right, should look cool. Front row will likely be $300something and not $1000USD+ or whatever it was in America aye? Are you a Nightrain member?

That's a better plan, I'll do that too, front row and a cheap seat for any extra shows.

Yeah, I reckon at max front pit tickets will be like $350ish. And no, not a nightrain member but have considered joining for pre-sale purposes! Yourself?

Who knows really, I mean after some of the people that opened for them in the states! But if i had to guess I'd probably say someone a bit heavier like Shihad perhaps?

I have a feeling though that every time they've toured NZ (and maybe Aus?) they've had the same openers haha which are Rose Tattoo and Skid Row

Silverchair could work. What about The Datsuns?

as cremefraiche said, after some of the openers in the states, nothing would surprise me.

I think Silverchair would have been an awesome fit, they are massively popular even after all these years, their frogstomp album and Freak album have enough for the fans who like their rock, and they also have a few slower tunes to mix it up... they have been out of action a long time as a band though... would have been awesome double act... it would have made tickets even harder to bloody get though lol

i really have no idea who will get the job.. grinspoon used to be big.. i am kind of trying to think of bands who have been around a while to meet the age demo of the fans going for the most part ;)

Does anyone know if the MCG will be seating on the ground or is it all standing only? If there's no seating it's going to be a huge crush on the ground in front of the stage.

There will be no seats on the ground from what I have heard/read.

Seating at outdoor concerts in Aus/NZ is quite rare and is usually only used by artists like The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac etc.

Rock bands like AC/DC, Foo Fighters etc never have seats on the floor when they play here
