Gackt
I hope the GnR swan song is similar to what Metallica did for their 30th anniversary shows, 3 nights of hits/rarities with all of the band alumni Otherwise people will always be bitching about so-and-so not being a part of a reunion
El Guapo
It's a bit ridiculous, my bet is, Gilby was drunk during this interview

Popular Post Mandy123
I like Gilby, he's always seemed so honored that he was a part of it, even briefly. I remember on one of the documentaries about GnR on youtube, he just simply says "I'm just glad to have done it, you know?" And it's not like he was hired on JUST to be a hired gun. Duff even says in "How To Be A Man" that when their pinball machine was designed, it was after Izzy left and "it's obvious that it was a forgone conclusion that Gilby would be in the band for keeps , as his picture was included on the big mural of the band on the game". (and then he was kicked out and sued them for using his likeness since he was getting none of the royalties from it) When I think of a GnR Reunion, I think of AFD 5, but I don't think anyone would be upset if all of the members at some point or another popped on stage (well, AFD and UYI guys, anyway).

Yes, this. I think that's all he was trying to say in that interview and that a scenario like that would be a real 'reunion', because he probably gets asked about this so-called ''reunion'' constantly now. I don't understand why some people get their panties in a twist over what he said because he was right on the money. The Glow Inc.
He's a bit dellusional if he thinks him not being asked has anything to do with 'the time not being right'... Reminds me when Ron thanked the RnRHOF for the induction.

Yeah he is not Slash nor he claims to be, he is just a normal rhythm guitarist who composes music and sings. He respects his time in Guns N' Roses and knows that the band gave him so much, he has also said in the past that If a reunion happens then Izzy should be there and not him. Even though I know it won't happen, but him doing some guest appearances on a few songs would be great. During the UYI he did his job very well, GNR needs a Rhythm guitarist and not a lead guitar player like Fortus, for lead we have SLASH!

Popular Post RONIN
Gilby is a great dude. He knew how to play rhythm guitar that complements Slash. He also knew how to have stage presence without trying too hard. Too bad the current GnR rhythm guitarist doesn't seem to understand this.
RussTCB
Look. I think Gilby is a great dude and have nothing against him BUT he's absolutely delusional if he thinks the general GN'R fan base would give two shits if he was involved.

dontdamnmeuyi2015
Why because he wasn't included? lol Whatever! Steven can't play a whole show and Izzy wasn't interested. Having Slash, Axl and Duff play together was as good as a reunion can get!
El Guapo
Fortus does not fit somehow, looks wrong, feels wrong. Gilby fit better. Izzy Stradlin is the real thing.
Get In the Ring Motherfker
Gilby may not have contributed to the GNR catalogue, but Fortus doesn't have much to claim in that aspect. Unless you count writing the "second part of the riff in better" .

Very true my friend, in this case I would say hats off to Izzy, the combo of Slash/Izzy was just awesome, it just went so well, even the lead parts which Izzy played, it really complemented Slash and it sounded so good. Gilby did maintain that during the UYI tour, he din't add something sloppy, he did what sounded best. Fortus was a great guitarist for Axl's solo band or for Britney Spears and Rihanna, but in Guns N' Roses we don't need him doing solo's in RQ and KOHD. It just doesn't sounds right when he plays those solo's. Izzy and Gilby did what normal guitarists do, Fortus just over does it.
