This was a weird era for Bruce - he spent the early 90's trying to reinvent his singing style after how weak his voice was in the mid to late 80's. He experimented with using a raspier voice, but it didn't really work 100% of the time. It wasn't until about 1997 or 1998 that he adopted his modern style, which is closer to his early 80's voice but with more restraint/control.
