how about when he spray painted Erin Everly's garage.

He didn't do that. Even Erin defended him and said he never did that.

Besides it's pretty obviously not his handwriting or anything he would write.

It was neighborhood kids apparently.

The one Slash told about Axl bailing out of a moving car cause Slash asked him not to sleep on his Grandma's couch.

I never understood that one.  I mean could he not just order him to pull over, it's obvious Slash shit it from him anyway.

Probably a trauma reaction, according to the women's thread. Makes as much sense as anything, I guess (and fits with Slash's description of the incident in his book).

Dave Quakenbush, vocalist with LA punk band The Vandals and a guest at the 1999 Halloween party, recalls Axl “wearing a dinosaur outfit. When some kids approached him and asked if he was Barney the Dinosaur, he said 'Nah! Barney's a fag!' Then he stopped himself and said, 'Oh, uh, I mean Barney's a pussy'.”

This is by far the best Axl story I've ever read

"It was the day before the gear was supposed to leave... The crew had been there since 8 in the morning, setting up. They have to break it down and the gear has to leave, literally the next morning. ...We rehearsed the set, two and half hours... It's probably 3 in the morning, now. Axl calls from Malibu. He's coming. And he wants to see the whole set again. He wants to watch the show. Everybody's like, OK.

...We're on this big soundstage and [they bring] a little couch next to the soundboard, right in front of the sound guy... Well, an hour goes by. 'Is he REALLY coming?' The road crew, everybody's asleep by now, next to their gear. 'Yeah, he wants to come, but the problem is, he wants to see the WHOLE show, pyro and everything.

So, we're like, 'Wait. I think, each time the pyro guy hits the fuckin' thing, it's like $300,000 for each bomb that's gonna go up. But, we're going to do it on this soundstage, and in order to make that happen, they got to get the fire department down here.' Now the fire department comes down, but I think they're digging it. They're thinking, 'I get to watch Guns N' Roses rehearse, so whatever.' They show up.

Now, it's probably 5AM... We're playing [the set], we've been up since 12 o'clock, the road crew has been up since 8AM, for 24 hours. [Axl's]'s in the chair with his arms crossed, just watching. Bombs, fireworks, everything's fuckin' going off... I'm playing November Rain. They have the curtain of sparks bouncing off my cymbals, burning my face, getting on my shorts and shit like that. The door opens - it's DAYLIGHT! You see people coming to work.

We end with Paradise City, doing the fuckin' shuffle thing [in the last part of the song], they blew the confetti shit... And dude, I'm not joking, it's like 7.30/8 in the morning. It's the most surreal moment. In my mind, I'm just going, 'Who's gotta fuckin' clean the confetti? What are we doing? Some poor guy has to sweep fuckin' six inches of confetti.'

We hit the last note. [Axl] gets up, walks out. Never said a word, didn't see him. We just get up, everybody goes home and the next time we saw him was in Rock in Rio. That's sort of Guns in a nutshell. The chaos and what happens." (Brain, I'd Hit That, 02/15)

What's yours?

This is far from a best story...unless you like this type of drama...him showing no respect for everyone from the crew to the firemen's time is unacceptable.

There's so many good ones. THim walking in on bucket heads porn, the time he caught bumble holding a knife to Tommy, him attacking the security guard in 98, anything to do with yoda and vibes.

They could make a comedy movie about the CD years.

Theres this story in slashs book (so it might aswell just be bullshit), where slash says axl, him and axls security guy are in a room with a few hot chicks and axl wants to fuck the girls together with the others. But the girls say theyll just blow them, but not fuck them. So axl gets mad, starts insulting and shouting at them and throws them out.

Never heard this one, can you share it?

I'll try and find it, I forget if it was a Bach interview or a bumble interview, but apparantly Bumble chased someone in the band with a knife (most assumed Tommy at the time) and Axl walked in and just walked out laughing and texted Bach something like "bumble just tried to stab everyone. I finally feel like I'm in a real rock band again!" and called bumblefootbumble "shank" for the remainder of the 2006 tour.

BBF says something opposite that Axl was called 'shank' @ 5:15

Is there even any truth to Slash's book?

When someone was gonna get yelled at (probably by Axl), they were gonna get the corn. So one year he dressed up as an ear of corn.

What do you mean? Axl seems to think its full of lies, but he never actually told us what the lies in Slash's book are (except for Slash's bed pissing frequency lol), though we can guess a few likely culprits (like the signing over the name incident).

And... it's Axl. He has a tendency to over-react and read too much into things and see stuff that isn't there. Slash's biography probably is just about as truthful and as fake as anybody else's, if I had to guess.

And I'm pretty sure the jumping out of the car incident did happen because it apparently stuck in Slash's mind all these years and he didn't just mention it in his book, he also talked about it on a talk show, etc.

@Frey what I mean is how do we know which parts to believe and which parts not to. Axl recently said that he flat out told Slash to his face "dude, you wrote a lot of stuff that didn't even happen." (I wonder how that conversation went) and while Axl never said which parts were untrue, Slash never came forward to dispel what Axl has claimed. But I know that if either of those things happened it would've just created a whole new mess of issues so I understand why both of them aren't saying more on it.

However, I don't think Axl is "over-reacting" by saying Slash's book is full of lies. He's just calling it how he sees it. If Slash in fact did write made up stories, then isn't he the one who's seeing things that aren't there or trying to make things sound worse than what they were?

I haven't read the book myself, but hearing something like that from Axl makes me not want to because at the very least, and in spite of everything else, Axl is honest. And so for me, it makes me question Slash's credibility a bit. I'm sure there are many aspects of the book that are factual, or at least Slash's version of the truth. But if I was to read through it myself, I'd constantly be wondering what's a lie? how of this is exaggerated?, etc.

No one knows for sure which parts to believe and which not to. Unless one of them starts talking about it. But I assume about 80-90% of the book are true or just Slash's point of view, rather than outright lies.

Slash does have a history of lying and Marc Canter said Slash lies "to make himself look cool" sometimes, but I really don't think Axl's word is that much more trustworthy than Slash's. Slash might lie more consciously, but Axl's view of the world is often so... unique that twisted, that it can't really be considered reliable either. You need to be careful with both of them. But for the record, both Slash and Duff's books are worth reading imo.
