Popular Post -W.A.R-
DLR had the charisma and swagger that set VH apart with SH they were just another 80's band
DR DOOM
Sammy was/is a way better singer. That said, the DLR songs and albums are the classic ones. Ideally, I'd like then to get Sammy (and Mike) back and do a set that was mostly DLR numbers, like what they did in Van Hagar but in reverse
MB.
I like the Sammy albums more, but DLR is a way more charasmatic frontman. I can do without Jump to be honest, but love songs like Judgement day. It's actually a hard choice for me.
Len Cnut
I saw Van Halen do a cover of You Really Got Me by The Kinks the other day. I threw up in my mouth.

Powerage5
I listen to Van Halen for EVH more than anything. Objectively, Eddie's best playing was with Dave. Therefore, that's my favorite era.

Johnny Drama
The DLR albums are the shit and the debut is on par with Appetite for best all time hard rock album. Just pretend Jump doesn't exist along with Sammy Hagarv and you're all set.

DieselDaisy
Roth has the swagger and rock n' roll charisma. 6 hours ago, Len Cnut said: Alright convict, we'll have to do the test: Thats them right? Gunner55
Had a girlfriend in high school who felt Hagar era was the best and DLR era was absolute shit. Couldn't do it. Sammy is a much better singer no doubt, but the style of music that came with him just didn't and doesn't do much for me. But everyone should have seen it coming after Jump was released really.
Zeppelin
I actually discovered a lot of Van Hagar first also. But then I heard the real VH, and never listened to Van Hagar again.
J Dog
Not a big fan of VH but I'd go with Roth. I saw Sammy open for someone once and he surprised me. Actually put on a good little show.
ZoSoRose
Hagar is a much better singer and is fantastic live, but in terms of who I prefer in Van Halen? Ya gotta go with Roth However, I enjoyed the Chickenfoot concert I saw more than the Van Halen one I saw if that means anything
