Posted May 25, 2017 Share Posted May 25, 2017 IMHO Whoever wants to go to the show should do it (1. is a good show; 2. is your money, do what makes you happy) as long as you don't have false expectations. It is what it is and Mr. Rose has made it fucking clear at this point. It's sad that for whatever reason Duff and Slash have fallen into the same hole as he. They were creative and productive before rejoining GNR and now.... Its amazing over the last year he has reached out more to the fans on a personal level than anyone in the GnR camp. I really didn't expect much, but my head kept telling me, they didn't put so much effort into releasing the other tour dates, so it's got to be more than that right? I was backing an interview with the trio, just talking about reforming and how it was working out, a little bit of banter. before hitting Europe, you know something to keep our faith that it's not all cash grab corporate bullshit. Oh well So all in all I feel played, entirely my own fault I should have learnt my lesson by now. I am happy for the people who are able to go to shows nearer to them, I hope you have a great time. Any emotional ties I had with the current line up are now spent, here's hoping Izzy slays them on the 30th anniversary with an accoustic cover by himself, tweeting with love to the fans.? I thought what if this is the last chance? Am I going to be ok with skipping the show over NITL drama? And the answer was no... so I bought a ticket. I still don't know how I'm going to feel when I get there and right now I feel weird about it. But I just think at this point it wont hurt to go and at least try to have fun and maybe get a little bit of closure in the process. I will totally be rocking a stizzy stradler hat while I'm there though. The big three can sell out all they want but Stizzy Stradler still mattters. I decided some time ago not to go to either London or Madrid shows, mainly because I suddenly had a huge expense to pay out as the dates were released and tickets went on sale, I decided to wait until nearer the time to see if prices would drop. When a second wave of tickets did come out I had already lost interest enough to decide I was happy to let it go. The only thing that might have me running around for last minute tickets is if Izzy/Steven turn up for more than two songs. So unless they suddenly appear at Slane I'm OK with that decision. If you have tickets go, enjoy, sing and dance your hearts out, I'm sure it will be a blast and a great night, don't forget to come back and tell us all the funny bits that happen. I agree, a meet up pre show with some of the people I have met over the net, might be one of the biggest things that has me regretting my decision.
