Popular Post Lumikki
So, Munich... what can I even say that hasn't already been said a million times by people who have gone to previous shows? They were great. All three of them. Axl sounded great (couldn't hear any Mickey or whatever in a live setting like this), moved around a lot and was in a really great mood. He was all smiles the entire evening. Slash was amazing too of course. I really enjoyed his solo spots, which is not something I'm usually into, but Slash makes boring guitar solos worth watching and listening to. Duff was great too, as usual. He wanders around the stage, looking like the coolest bassist ever. And I also got him to notice me and he smiled at me. That alone makes him the best in my book Can't really say anything about Frank/Dizzy/Fortus/Melissa. I barely even noticed that they were there. Beta, Meegan, Nando, Andrei, Kat and Slash's bodyguard managed to draw my attention much more than they did throughout the show. Though I actually did notice Melissa's singing. Which is really nice. So I guess Melissa wins this one. Other random things: - Estranged was wonderful. I got a bit misty-eyed watching them perform that song in the same stadium the Estranged video was filmed at. After all these years. And with the same three people again. Kinda magical. - Axl said "I remember this!" (talking about the stadium I guess) early on in the show and also "So this is what daylight looks like! Interesting." - Yesterdays! It's one of my favorite GNR songs and I'm so happy they played it. Sounded great too. - Also was very happy about them playing Don't Cry. I like Don't Cry more than Patience, but was expecting them to play Patience, so I was pleasantly surprised. - Also was surprised about TIL. Not exactly my favorite CD song, but it was interesting to hear and see live. I liked the way Axl sang it and Slash' solo was beautiful. - Actually, now that I think about it, I really enjoyed Slash (and Duff) playing all the CD songs. More for the symbolic value than for the songs themselves (I like Better, but I can't stand TIL and CD), but still. Now I only wish they'd play some different CD songs (the ones I actually like) or some VR or Slash's solo stuff and I could die a happy GNR fan. -At some point there was a really obnoxious girl who was trying to force her way into front row and kept throwing herself into everyone and bounced around crazily. Security pulled her out so fast she didn't even understand what was happening to her. The grim looking big guy with the long beard (I don't know what his name is, but I have seen him in a lot of pictures and videos) waved at her to come to the rail and she was all excited thinking she'd get special treatment or get to go backstage or something, but the guy just grabbed her, pulled her over the rail and told another security guy to escort her out of the stadium. She looked so confused and then indignant about what was happening. The other people in the crowd cheered when she was pulled out and GNR's grim security guy gave us all fistbumps lol. It was pretty funny. The guy clearly knows who he is working for and how Axl wants unpleasant people in the crowd to be dealt with. I've never seen security act so fast at a concert. In my experience, obnoxious people at concerts usually keep being obnoxious while security does nothing about it, so that was a nice change. - I did not notice people being bored by Coma or CD songs or whatever people like to claim usually. People around me were thrilled by Coma and sang along to it as well as the CD songs and cheered loudly for them. But then again I was right at the front where you'd presumably find the most hardcore fans. Anyway, here's some shitty pictures (I didn't take many because my phone's camera sucks badly):

AXL ROSE is not a clean singer, he had the raspiest voices in rock. Now that he sings clean, he is BAD. If you like his vocals, thats because it doesnt sound that bad. Not bad for pop singing, bad terrible for the Axl we know. So, while you decide to not answer my question I assume that you haven't been there. Did you have the opportunity to watch a pro shot? No? Then stop talking outta your ass because you're clueless. I said I didn't heard Mickey at all. That was my statement. Did Axl use rasp? You better bet yor ass! Did he use rasp all the time? Clearly not, but he still didn't sound like Mickey nor like a pop singer. His vocals were strong and powerfull through the whole concert. I know the songs and the text passages where he sounds like shit on youtube and I payed attention when I was there. You're entiteld to trust the "pro shot" mobile phone recordings and to base your opinion on that but stop acting like you know shit because you don't! Popular Post blackjesuz
Hey guys, have been at FOS2 yesterday, well...what a fucking great show that was! I've seen almost every show on Youtube worth mentioning and been to shows in 2010 Arnheim and 2012 Gladbach. Since so much have been said about this amazing night, I cut it short to the most important thing people here are so worried about : There was no Mickey! Axl sounds powerful and uses a lot of rasp. And even if not, there's a world of difference between the live Axl and those videos we all like to see and bitch about. I don't know what it is, maybe some kind of integrated copy-protection on his vocal chords making it impossible to capture or something like that xD And the crowd seemed to be lame, but actually it wasn't. Not everyone was jumping around and stuff, but everyone enjoyed them selfes in their own way...well german people xD So conclusion : Best show I've ever been to so far. And yes, 2010 was great.
Gordon Comstock
Rocket Queen And it looks like Ollie Fabeck has most of, if not the whole show: Still room for improvement, but Axl definitely sounds better than the previous shows. Even if he's not using his raspy voice, at least he's projecting his clean voice better.

Tom2112
Not a bad show again... But! As someone who just saw Aerosmith, gnr are simply not on the same level as other pro rock groups. Vocally, Steven owns Axl... Yeah, Axl has a greater range, but on any given night who sings better? Steven, and that's speaking as a Axl rose fanatic. If Axl sang as well as Steven did tonight, this board would blow up.

The music wasn't bad, for when youre lying on the couch and getting high, but not for a rock concert. It was more of a downer and people were cheering when she announced the last song. Yeah. It's the music the supposedly hip crowd listens. I don't know why they always get those gigs. 10 years ago I saw them as support for a Iggy & the Stooges show. Again, totally out of place and terrible. People stood there going: "WTF is this?". Oddly enough the complete supposedly young and/or hip GNR entourage came out to see their gig: Edited June 15, 2017 by PatrickS77

Which is totally fine imo at least for songs like November Rain or Black Hole Sun. You want him to be what he has to be in your imagination. Accept the artist he is now, he's not in his 20s anymore and maybe he wants to sing those songs clean, reasons could be he likes it more that way now he's 30 years older, he wants to rest his voice or whatever. I really don't get that rasp thing, Axl has a good voice with rasp or without, but many want him to rasp everything, whether it's necessary or not. Personally, I even find he overdid that rasp on AFD or UYI, sometimes he used it when it would've sounded better without.
