If you can't stop drooling at the site of Angus Young, go masturbate in the bathroom, choose an AC/DC show next time and enjoy your orgasms - they should come easier there, you'll have him bare-legged. omg what the f** did I just read. I understand that you might not like ACDC but calling a living legend like Angus an idiot makes you look like a fool Edited July 13, 2017 by Natalia92
RONIN
12 minutes ago, Blackstar said: For the people that hate Angus Young: GnR has played about 80 shows so far, and the guy has appeared in 6 of them for 2 songs, which (with the exception of one show in Australia, I think) didn't replace any of the songs in the regular set. The band played its full set plus these two songs. It's okay if you don't like him (to each their own), but why do you make such a big deal out of it? I don't hate Angus Young but I don't even know if I like a single AC/DC track. That kind of music isn't really my thing. I think it's awesome when bands bring out high profile guests like that - it adds massive value to the shows, especially at the price range GnR is offering tickets at. You have an unusual situation here though: 1. A band returning after a 23 year hiatus - perhaps even longer in some areas of europe. 2. A band with very little original music. Fans are starved for Guns N' Roses. Normally a guest like Angus would be an awesome addition to any show. The problem I see here is that the setlist is bloated to the gills with cover songs and jams - so you throw on an extra 2-3 covers on top of a setlist that's easily 1/3 covers and you have a legitimate reason for griping from hardcore fans. That's not anything against Angus but rather these setlists. There are many many fans of Don't Cry. That's the song that made me a fan and that's arguably my favorite GnR song. It's probably the biggest hit outside of November Rain and SCOM if we're going by youtube numbers. Yet, this song is played less than 50% of the time. For a person paying $2-300 on a nostalgia tour - not hearing one of the band's biggest hits will definitely be disappointing. Not hearing DC at my show was a disappointment. Especially since I don't care at all about The Seeker or a 10 minute version of KOHD and Rocket queen. These are simple fixes the band can make so they can bring in more cool guests to the shows and still keep hardcore fans happy. Just cut the bloat already. Tighten these shows up.

Silent Jay
Angus Young is the modern day roman emperor. Like Commodus, he enjoys fighting in a stadium as a gladiator.

Popular Post MB.
I will adress the reaction on Angus. I was in the circle and the crowd loved it, maybe only a few couldn't care less, but that's a minority. AC/DC and above all Angus are extremely loved in my country. We all know Angus has also a house pretty near to Nijmegen, since his wife is dutch, so I think a lot of people weren't suprised. I personally truly hoped it as well, so it made me happy. Show was totally awesome and very long

The overall point you (and other people) make about the amount of covers/instrumentals/long jams played is valid and I understand it (and more or less agree). What I don't understand is why the complaining focuses on certain songs. I don't get the hate for The Seeker, for example. It's an up-tempo song, the band enjoys playing it (and they play it well) and it doesn't last more than 2 minutes. As for AC/DC and Angus, I'm not a fan of their more popular period/songs either (ie. post 1980). But the Bon Scott era stuff consists mostly of blues/classic rock 'n' roll based hard rock songs (some of them with interesting lyrics) and GnR has a few songs of this kind too. Early AC/DC has been cited as one of the influences on Appetite and Whole Lotta Rosie was played in early days' shows. So, although I like GnR more than AC/DC (and Aerosmith), I don't understand how someone who likes Out Ta Get Me, for example, hates Riff Raff (not caring for it because it's another band's song is one thing and hating on it is another). colonizedmind
Longest yet? Cool to see them tinkering, with Michelle in the encore, etc... The encore is far stronger and unexpected than it was for 3-4 months ! "Also to all those that oppose (Angus) ? "You can...." Axl, Slash, Duff, Angus, 3 and half hours...Vocal arguments aside, that's a HELL of a show ! Wish London shows had got Angus or a surprise, I was sercretly hoping he'd show since it was the same venue, but it's luck of the draw as always... So happy for everyone who's (in particular) been at the last few shows

Popular Post xBrownstonex
Well, what can i say. This day was a perfect ending to an european tour that was just absolutely incredible. Its even hard to describe i arrived early, around 12 and was able to park literally in front of the main entrance across the street. Good start to a day. It was pissing rain the whole morning until like 3 pm. Met @Lio in front of the venue, who is probably one of the nicest people I've met recently. Bought shirts, but could just get lithos inside. After we got all the lithos we needed after some drama, we were kindly allowed to store them at one of the merch stands. We had spots in the golden circle pretty close to the stage. Seeing axl, slash and duff from this distance is always a surreal experience and is, at least for me, hard to comprehend, that these people are really standing a few meters away from me. the build up to the beginning was as tense as always. The gun shootings, the looney tunes and the equalizer, followed by mcbob. And you know: now its happening. These first seconds of the show have always been and will always be absolutely intense, surreal and give me goosebumps, when these guys hit the stage. the show was absolutely phenomenal. Angus was cool as fuck, the setlist was almost perfect. Was hoping for don't cry aswell, but well. It was hard to comprehend that this finally was the last show. Besides from a few fucking idotic dutch assholes in the front, the crowd was good. Not as wild as in paris, but mostly fun and really into it. During ycbm this one guy turns to me and says: „now i can die in peace." Axl didnt talk as much as in paris or Stockholm, but he again was in a really fantastic mood. Making smiley faces, jumping around and being goofy. these last five weeks have been absolutely incredible. I am so happy and privileged to have been able to witness all this. This is an absolutely incredible and amazing experience that will be cherished forever. I've met so many cool fans during these shows. Thanks to everyone i met who made these experiences even better. And thanks again to @Lio for this great day and a perfect ending to this tour. Couldnt have asked for anything better. i will live and breathe guns n roses until i die. I fucking love this band. good fucking night. Edited July 13, 2017 by xBrownstonex

Popular Post Black Sabbath
Longest NITL show so far clocking in at just under three and a half hours. Bitch about what songs are played or not played all you want (you still look dumb), but that's insanely impressive. Most popular bands play for two hours when they tour, with a static setlist. Guns have consistently played at least two and a half hours, and recently they've been clocking in at over three hour shows. I find that to be incredible, because aside from Bruce Springsteen, who really does that? I can only hope I get a show/setlist like this at one of the many shows I'm going to the rest of this year. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if this lineup finally goes and breaks the record set back in 2009.
