Popular Post GNRmello77
Okay I'm going to try and do a review here yesterday I went to Nijmegen with 2 friends in the afternoon, we parked our car when we arrived around 3, then a bus took us to the station close tot he venue, then there was a 10 minutes walk untill we arrived. Security check and everything went pretty quick, and I inmediatly bought a Shirt at the merch. After that we bought tokens and got ourselves some beers and went for a spot, we were kind of right from the stage a few rows behind the golden circle. good spots! Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown came on, Solid band but they didn't really impress the crowd. After that Biffy Clyro who made a lot of noise! We took a couple more beers and the waiting for GN'R was there. Gunshots! haha I tell you they add up to the excitement, after 10 minutes of Gunshots the Looney Tunes intro came from the speakers and soon after MCBOB was announcing the band in his usual way, pretty cool to hear that in real! The band stormed on stage with ISE and the crowd was electric! It was surreal to finally see Axl again, this time with Slash and Duff by his side and I had an instant smile on my face which stayed there for the following 3 and a half hours!! Man this band people I tell ya it's something unreal. Their sounds is so fucking solid and Mr brownstone Chinese Democracy it all kicked in hard! then Jungle hot damn what a song to hear live The crowd went mad it was awesome!!! Axl's fucking brutal intro after Slash' amazing teasing riffs and it was on! I must say Axl sounded great on most of the songs, especially the songs he usually seems to struggle on came out of his throat in a great way! Coma You Could Be Mine November Rain My Michelle they all sounded FANTASTIC! RQ was less impressie and I went for a piss and a drink during the solo. Duff's solo spot was awesome as hell something you have to have heard! Estranged is my favorite song as for so many on here and it was pure magic, Slash is a fucking KING the tune his solo's jaw dropping! My 2 friends are not really GN'R fans but they were speechless haha Slash zipped their mouths lol. Man what else can I say? I was really happy to hear Coma and it was bad ass, too bad I was the only one jumping and singing along from all the people standing around me, but I had a blast! When Angus came on I fucking lost my shit I didn't know what was going on anymore lol, I told my friend to pinch me because It was all too fucking good! What a great night great band, They played 10 out of the 12 Appetite songs and I love it. The band entirely was spot on! Dizzy's piano skills are something too! Frank did a hell of a job, and Duff;s mean bass is something that you feel the entire time. I didn't really notice Mellissa's contributions but oh well.. Richard was great as Always, the man is the right one for this! IT was one hell of a cool party, and I think it topped everything I have ever seen live before! I am a happy man now lol.

Or he's wrong. Irregardless Tokyo show ran longer and there is IEM audio of Axl knowingly trying to break the record at that show. A GnR fan criticising another artist's morals?! Funny. As if our guys are saints. +there is a huge difference between trashing something the way you did and simply stating that it is not your cup of tea.
DieselDaisy
''Generic metal''? If DC - more to the point Bon era DC - were 'metal' I wouldn't have one album of theirs.

WhenYou'reTalkinToYourself
Acdc is no more metal than GNR. On the other hand, the word 'generic' describes their music perfectly. Apart from a few songs that stand out, their catalogue consists of indifferent boring songs with even more indifferent, can't-get-more-generic-than-this solos and riffs imo. I don't have anything against Angus and it's nice to have him as a guest on a show or two, but at least they could have played something better than this riff raff BS. Smh. This has got to be one of the dumbest posts I've ever read on here and I've been here since 2004. Guest appearances by rock legends are always welcomed in huge concert events like this. So I have no idea where you're coming from with all this nonsense.

While I agree Guns may not exist if there was no AC/DC. They didn't create any genre. Rock n roll, specifically hard rock was alive and thriving long before them.

Of course they would never do a song like Hells Bells in a GNR show, but they could play at least You shook me for example. It would have been a far better choice. 2 minutes ago, default_ said: Generic? They have fuckin helped creating the fuckin genre, if werent for 'em Guns N Fuckin Roses wouldnt be around. Generic my fuckin ass. So what? Most of their songs sound the same. GNR has a very small catalogue compared to ACDC, but it's much more versatile. ACDC was only good for creating "high energy rock n' roll" songs. Ok, but nothing more than this. Where is a song like Patience for example?

6lake sa66ath
If I had to choose between another Chinese Democracy track in the set or a Acker Dacker track feat. Angus I choose 2 AC/DC tracks thanks! ;-D
Loot Man
Looks like Axl is still serious with AC/DC, and there is really a new album coming. I said it in another thread, but I say it again: the album will be "Bon Scott meets Appetite/Lies"-style. And that album will fucking kick ass. Just pure rock and roll, nothing too experimental.. Axl will be in full rasp and probably write lyrics. That´s why he sings "clean" now - he saves his voice for that album, maybe for the tour too. As an old school Guns fan, I wait that very much. Pure rock n roll with great singer. Album will hit to the top. I understand Axl, he loved AC/DC for his whole life and now it´s time to do album with them. Good luck, Axl! I trust you! And don't worry Mickey: that´s not gonna happen with AC/DC. Not in album, not in tour. Sorry off topic.
