killuridols
AXL and Sebastian used to be goofs of that kind or listen to their telephonic chat with Howard Stern from 1991. It is the best interview both of them have ever done. I don't think they would be offended, they would laugh their ass off. And I think that Axl would laugh at it as well, he has this twisted sense of humour. It's not a crime to make fun of somebody you like, much better than insulting that person or excessively worshipping. Letter to Erin from Gingersnap https://one-bad-apple.tumblr.com/post/159869756671/80squeen-letter-from-axl-to-erin-translation Not really.... Dear Erin, Hi love, how are you doing? It’s just before dawn here in Hamburg and I was thinking of you. And I didn’t want to wake Izzy so I thought I’d be different. The flights were actually fun. I’m reading my book and trying hard. I just took a much needed hot bath and read a little. It (the book) seems to give me new hope– I feel like maybe someone can finally help and understand me– I don’t feel so alone. Hamburg seems to be cool but I've noticed the people are much harsher than any place I've been. Now I know where it really comes from. Tell Torque and Geneve I love them and will see them soon. Hopefully we will have talked before you get this note- I love you, and I miss you. Thank you for coming back and also for holding me, that is one of the most important and special moments of my life. Wish me luck - I'm gonna get some more sleep and hopefully go out and see the sights tonite. Thinking of you always, Love - Axl - Not new, but I actually find it hard to read letters like this (not just from Axl, but other people's letters in general). Stuff like I’m reading my book and trying hard. I just took a much needed hot bath and read a little. It (the book) seems to give me new hope– I feel like maybe someone can finally help and understand me– I don’t feel so alone. or Thank you for coming back and also for holding me, that is one of the most important and special moments of my life. is so intensly personal and private, it makes you want to look away. It's Axl at his most vulnerable and it's also pretty fucking sad. Makes you wonder what he was feeling so alone about? And finally help him and understand him regarding what? His mental health issues? His childhood? Curious to know what book he was reading. And that other sentence Paints a picture of a very dysfunctional relationship right there. Erin probably leaving after they had a bad fight once again, then returning after all and holding and comforting Axl, even though he was likely to blame for making her leave in the first place. I love reading his letters to Erin!! I feel that's the real Axl we hardly ever get to know, so blessed be Erin for putting it out for the fans to have a small glimpse of how things were. Regarding privacy.... IMO, he's shared with the world much more private and sensitive information than this and for me, that was the hardest to read. About the book... Could it be that one he gave to her before one of their many breakups? I've found the girl who won the auction for that book. I need it to get it and read it too. It seems he was moved by that book.

Yes, seems like a goodbye present but who knows from which one of the several breakups As far as I know, Axl kept sending presents to Erin up to mid 1993 or a little more. Could it be that one he gave to her before one of their many breakups? I've found the girl who won the auction for that book. I need it to get it and read it too. It seems he was moved by that book. I`ve read some of Bach`s books, they start to be one like another in a while, like Coelho, for example. That kind of "everything is illusion and you can learn how to manipulate it" and also separation in time and space is an illusion and we are all part of one entirety. If you are sensitive to this, it`s pretty good read, like But if you are too much sober about spirituality and soul wandering and things, it does have some bright moments, but as a whole it`s complete fairy-tale to soothe aching soul with bullshit detector off. Sorry for spoilers. Johnatan Livingstone Seagull is good to start with, it`s pretty short. For me all that Erin`s auction things are much more intimate than any interview he ever did, because interview, even if it speaks about pretty intimate things, was always meant to be perceived by public. These things were just between two people. Some of them are incredibly beattiful because how simple, civil and vulnerable they are. You never got this with any professional shooting or interview or anything. Yes, it feeds some voyeurism inside us, but, on the other side, think about the person who is selling the most intimate depth of someone`s soul in public auction. I cannot see anything else than coldly calculated revenge to hurt the most vulnerable spot. I have no idea to how deepest rock bottom you must fail to do something like this to anyone (including worst enemies). Rip it up. Burn it. Lock it. Bury it... but this?!

Oh yeah, it's definitely a glimpse into a side of him he doesn't usually show to the public. I wasn't suggesting that we shouldn't post/discuss these things (I'm the last person who would argue for censorship here and that stuff is all around the internet for anyone interested to look it up anyway), I was just expressing my own personal squeamishness at seeing all these very emotional and private things written down. Was it a "goodbye" present after the relationship? I don't think he was reading this book during the time of the letter, because what the book is about doesn't really fit with the content of the letter. But I do think it's quite likely that it was meant as a "goodbye present" to Erin, because the book is about moving on and finding your "soulmate", even after divorce and past relationships that didn't work out. Other things I just learned from skimming reviews of this book on Amazon: - It's a very Axl-ish book and I'm not surprised at all that he liked it. Apparently it's all about finding your soulmate, love and happiness in relationships, full of pseudo-scientific and philosophical babble and new age stuff, and written in very flowery language. - Some of the Amazon reviews were titled things like "Don't read unless you believe in past lifes and time travel", "Bunch of new age nonsense" and "Love: New age style". I admit I lol'd. - One review described the book as "the main character learning to conquer his fear of intimacy and failure". No wonder this resonated with Axl. And Alan Niven really knew how to hit where it hurts. - The main character of the book is the author himself and he's telling the story of how he found his soul mate and their epic all-transcending relationship. Well, hindsight is clearly 20/20 once again, because the guy and his "soulmate" are long divorced by now Fun fact: The guy also wrote a book called "Illusions" about a "reluctant Messiah figure" from the Midwest or something (...). He released another book not too long ago titled "Illusions II". I wouldn't be surprised if Axl has read the Illusions book too. - Apparently the message of the book is also to look for love right in front of you, and to look for your soulmate among your friends, where you didn't think to look before. I could make so many Slaxl jokes about this, you have no idea. (Axl clearly didn't understand that message, or he would have figured out who his saulmate... I mean soulmate... is a long time ago... )
