sex pistols is great but in my book if you pick one song from appetite -- any song, like anything goes -- it is 18 million times better than the entire sex pistols discography

actually if you go back in time, and you pick like a demo from the pre-slash years before appetite, like the hollywood rose demo to anything goes (my way your way), and just that guitar duel of izzy and chris webber and the animalesque axl howling on it are 18 gazillion times better than the entire sex pistols discography plus the entire clash discography

Should have put it in there really. Personally, I think there are debut albums that are better than either of these. Dunno why I even started the thread to be honest. Actually I do.... boredom.
