He did so to investigate child pornography since he experienced "something creepy" himself when he was a child. Also, the Double O charity was founded in 1976, years before that event (makes sense with his background story imo). I find this story absolutely believable, I want to know stuff myself when I'm interested in something and figure out how exactly it works. The police found no files related to that on his computer and it was just a bad idea which got him into troubles. Don't believe everything you read in the media. Edit: London police cleared Pete of kiddie porn charges after their four-months investigation. Nothing to add I think.
